Pump&dump Spooner if he can put up big numbers? Otherwise I don't get it either - NorthNuck
Guessing looking at Spooning to be a playmaker |

It was a hockey hit.
Seems silly to get worked up about it only after there is an official injury announcement.
Better chances for a draft lottery pick at this stage. - Donald Twain

Nah, Benning just wants to justify the 3 year extension he's already written up for Spooner.

I mean, Virtanen didn't have the puck and had no reason to think Getzlaf would go out of his way to hit him(which he did).
I agree nothing to get worked up over since it's over and done with already but it certainly was not a "hockey hit" whatever that means. - NorthNuck
It’s the hit version of a hockey trade.
I can’t wait for someone to coin a hockey goal, or a hockey line change |

I don't know if anyone mentioned this when Schenn was called up the other day, but he would bring a nice physicality if they swapped Gudbranson or Pouliot out for him.
Last 2 NHL seasons
Gudbranson: 2.36 hits per game
Schenn: 3.56 hits per game |

Honestly if he's as trash as Guddy defensively but hits a lot more and costs 3mil less I'd call that a win |

Not worked up just asking.Jake hasn't been his physical self since player safety labeled him a predator and who knows what else was said behind closed doors. |

I think it's more that the NHL itself has less hitting than ever before, not really Bettman and co targeting Jake lol. |

I cant remember where I read it or whether it seemed legit but someone broke down their numbers over the last couple years and came to the conclusion that Guddy was the better defender but Schenn was better at transitioning the puck and could actually participate in the offensive zone even if pathetically.
I also think the hits per game is misleading, one because the way it is tallied and also Schenn has been fighting to prove he can still make it it in the NHL and hitting is something that is noticeable. Guddy, is for better or worse an established NHLer and will not be sent to the AHL anytime soon.
I think the biggest difference in the players is salary and expectation but really doubt one improves/degrades the team over the other in any significant way. |

Salary makes it seem like a no brainer, but I'll reserve full judgement until I see him play a few games.
Schenn has played more NHL games than Gudbranson over the last 3 seasons even though he's been in the AHL most of this year, durability also counts for physical defensemen. |

Feels like too soon for Edler but hopefully it means injury wasn't very serious. Didn't they call it a concussion just a week ago? |

Read that he's skating now (along with Demko). If they don't play til Thursday, you only have to be out 10 days with a concussion, so that timeline could work. |
