Thanks.....wow. There’s a lot to chew on in that one. Good job by the writer
I too will be specifically keying in on ghosts retrievals
They really can’t do anything with him until provorov gets figured out. You don’t want to give that leverage to provorovs camp if you move on from ghost |

I don't mind moving Ghost, but you need to know that you have in Myers and Morin first. As frustrating as his defense can be they can't afford to lose him with this current group of D men. |

Yes, this smells like an offseason question mark. It’s a bigger issue than I first thought.

Myers yes. Not going to wait on Morin. He’s an afterthought. Gordon is not in an enviable position trying to juggle all this while in a playoff race. If you want to call it that. But what you said seems to be what fletcher is thinking. Let me see what I got regardless of our 10 out of 11 streak with bringing up Myers.
This is an off-season trade I would think. Can’t imagine ghost getting involved in the deadline but I guess you never know. |

Ghost problem is one of the easiest problems to have. The Flyers have no urgency to move him unless he becomes a disruptive force for the team (complaining, demands a trade, etc).
1) The Flyers would have to find someone else to QB the PP1 unit.
I personally don't think that guy is Provorov, but the Flyers have many options with Giroux, Voracek and even Patrick to carry the puck in. Then you have the development of Sanheim. Ghost can be great on the PP, but make no mistake he is not as hard to replace as some may want to believe, especially when you look at his down season.
2) Ghost wants to play more.
Well when the Flyers get more PP chances in the game his ice time rises obviously, but when they don't he gets 3rd pair minutes due to his 5 on 5 play. If he can't generate offense with the 10-12 5v5 minutes what makes him think he will with 17-18+ 5v5 minutes? Earn it.
3) Trade Ghost when the time is right
If the Flyers can trade him while improving one key area or even multiple areas then it would be worth it, but then the Flyers become weaker on the backend...do they? Well when Ghost is playing like his rookie year or his 3rd year then yes he would be a loss, but if he plays like his 2nd or 4th then it isn't. So which Ghost wants to show up? If he is generating offense 5 on 5 then he is great, but when he doesn't he is terrible. The key with Ghost is his 5 on 5 play, the PP Ghost can be replaced. |

If he was tuning out the coaches early in the season, I wonder if teammates aren’t as high on him this season. He does have a bit of a self-confident attitude and it could rub off poorly on some people. This is all pure speculation but this absolutely can have a bad ripple affect on the rest of d corps during that time. If he feels better than x and y stating things like this is MY game and how I play. Shows a lack of interest to adapt which is troubling sorta |

Ghost is still avg 19:56 per game this season. Much ado about nothing IMO.

Yeah that's full season with Hak and Gordon...
He started the year with Provorov playing large minutes, which following inconsistent goaltending is one of the biggest reasons the team blew chunks early in the season.
The main point is not the whole season, but recently under Gordon while the team has been WINNING. |

Clearly his even strength minutes have taken a big hit over the last 14 games when the team has been winning. Only thing that gets him playing more is when the team gets PP time.

It wasn’t the inconsistent goaltending that made people question Ghost. It was the anemic PP, lack of shooting, then lack of getting it on net, then the questionable decisions with the puck and then a hesitation that wasn’t there last season. Sparks of good mixed with poor play.
The breakout analysis is interesting. The potential attitude thing...that isn’t cool. I’m definitely going to watch him and see.

I said following the inconsistent goaltending, the play of Provorov and Ghost were the top 2 reasons the Flyers played poorly in the beginning part of the year. How does goaltending make people question Ghost?
The PP issues were not just Ghost issues, many players did not perform well. The issues with Ghost is what he has control over and that is his 5 on 5 play. |

Exactly, I don’t see Ghost issues being tied to goaltending at all. The PP was not all on Ghost either. 5 on 5 Ghost has been up and down still.

I've said that from the day he signed that gem of a contract and with the depth of defense the Flyers are developing that Ghost is a prime candidate for trade.
Slump or no slump (or whatever you want to call it) if Fletcher doesn't screw it up there will be a good (and fair) return should a trade day come. |

Tampa is on the warpath. 92 points already and their up 2-0. Are they on pace for any kind of regular season points record?
Edit - 62 wins by Detroit 95. So if they win tonight. They would need 18 wins in their last 22 to break it |

I don't know about their points pace but I do fear that tomorrow could be really ugly if the Flyers play like they did over the weekend. |

Just checked - Domingue is 18-4 lol GAA and sv% aren't stellar but with the way that team lights the lamp he's better than fine. |
