I said the same thing elsewhere. Might be worth the gamble. Lehkonen is losing value more and more... - deadpoulet
Is the 2nd pick necessary? Puljujarvi's numbers aren't that impressive either... I guess he has more value since he's a 4th overall pick |

It's a tough call.... Puljujarvi has had an even harder time finding the back of the net than Lehkonen has, but there's lots to like about him and if you make that trade and he busts out, you look like a damn genius - obie
He's 6'4", 20 years old and a right shot...all things the Habs need. |

Yea and he's only 20 still, Edmonton won't just give him away |

they will want more than Lehkonen IMO, they are trading potential...they will want the same in return. |

Absolutely, he would be quite the add to the young core they're building if he were to pan out |

Lehkonen + 1st round pick
Puljujarvi + 3rd round pick

Indeed... I think they would want a young D, one of Brook or Romanov |

The Oilers won't trade him for Lehkonen straight up. I don't think they would trade him for Lehkonen and a 2nd either, but I would not give more.
You buy low (Domi and Tatar) when you can. It's a gamble, but that's how Bergevin helped this team out this summer. A 2nd round pick would be a huge gamble anyway. |

Lehkonen + 1st round pick
Puljujarvi + 3rd round pick - Not_Yan
I say no, too much uncertainty surrounding Puljujarvi to gamble this year's 1st away, I think anyway |

Hmm just looked at Lehkonen's stats, his value must be so low that he's not even worth trading him. I think a team like Ottawa would have better assets for Edmontonfor a Pulju deal. |

If that's the case, Hudon's value probably isn't very high either... |

I think they'll trade Lehkonen as a RFA this summer |

Yeah but he's very good without the puck. |

They'd be lucky to get a 5th for Hudon |

Yes and no. The probability of hitting a homerun with a kinda-late 1st round pick is very low anyway, so it's worth it IMO.
Dylan Strome looked like a bust and then exploded in Chicago... |

Bergevin will probably trade him for a 4th line grinder (à la Andrighetto vs Martinsen) |

Yeah, at some point he will only take a spot. Some of our prospects should be pushing to make the line-up next season (one would think). |

Meh. We have 3 good centres right now. In theory, all three lines should be able to contribute with goals. |

True enough... but that 1st could still end up being a top 15 pick, maybe even top 10, still lots of hockey to be played! It would be very intriguing to add a player like that for sure... but if Puljujarvi turns out to be a bust and Edmonton drafts a solid D with that pick, the Habs take a big step backwards... would you trade Suzuki straight up for him? |

I think they should try putting Domi back on the wing for a couple games, preferably with Kotkaniemi at C |
