I wonder what the Kings can get for Hagelin at the TDL. Worst case is they made Toffoli's contract disappear, if they believed he wasn't going to regain form in LA anytime soon. - 333inthe3rd
Toffoli is definitely on the market, one of the only tradeable asset (with Martinez) they have, unless somebody wants and will pay up for Quick.

Wonder what it woul take to get Alec Martinez from the Kings. He can still play top 4 minutes, is left handed, and has one more year left at $4 mil., and the Kings are in full rebuild mold. - LAHawk
Have always liked Martinez. Agree, he has plenty of tread on his tires and would be a solid add to the top 4 as a LHD if a reasonable trade is doable. |

Cheers Bud ! They're both in good hands with Dale Hunter. That org has a proud history and expects a lot from anyone that wears the jersey, especially a guy like Dale.
Discovered that Bouchard did actually have a 7 game cameo in Edmonton this year but was obviously sent back for more seasoning. He's a towering presence physically. His skating and speed did not stand out, but he's got a a big shot and seems to be the pp QB over Boqvist, though they do work well together. - philco28
Bouchard sounds like he could be in the mold of a Seabrook in his prime. Not the best skater but good positioning, solid defense, size, booming shot, ability to play the PP point, and a RHD. |

The problem with players like Pearson and Toffoli who are both average skaters is the league has gotten faster, and the Kings as a team is too slow and the heavy game they have played for the past 6-8 years is ineffective. |

I started saying Toffoli instead of Pearson. My bad. But it wouldn't surprise me to see him dealt, now that you mention it. |

Sounds like Tanner Pearson has been a healthy scratch for the Pens lately. I wouldn't mind seeing Stan inquiring. - ikeane

I'm going off topic here. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Scott Powers has a long article up on The Athletic about Marian Hossa. Powers visited him and talked to Hossa about his skin condition, time in the league and what he's doing now.
Marian Hossa was an absolute warrior before I read this article, now I don't even have the word to describe his remarkable fortitude. I would highly recommend everyone here find a way to read that article. - Hawks_49
Yes, I read it this morning, and it was truly a remarkable piece. He’s my favorite all-time Blackhawk, and I saw Bobby and Stan play in person.
Looking forward to th3 expiration of his contract, so the Hawks can honor him & retire his sweater. I may even go up to Toronto for his HOF induction.
BTW, the Athletic is more than worth the money. It’s the first app I open and read every morning. |

Saw Boqvist play live today.
He had 2 assists in a 9-4 Knights loss to my Steelheads.
Observations.
Game seems to come easy to him. He floats around between whistles with a very relaxed demeanor. He was paired for large parts of the game with fellow '18 first rounder Evan Bouchard (EDM). The two have good chemistry, especially on the power player, where they comprised the top D pairing whenever London had a man advantage.
Boqvist displayed good positional instincts, covering for his partner when the flow called for it. He can pivot athletically from attacking to defending and has a good active stick in breaking up opposing rushes.
He also boldly jumped into the rush when lanes opened for him.
A good passer with good vision, he adroitly flicked a backhand to an open mate in the slot, and that player buried a power play goal for London's final tally. He also likes to rove around the entire offensive zone while on the power play, looking for open ice to be a passing target for mates.
He's smallish and generally shunned contact. His did have one clear cut shooting chance and fired a slap shot into the goalie's crest. His shot doesn't appear to be a weapon. Didn't observe him play any PK minutes.
Overall, talented puck mover who seems like a Top 4 D prospect, but will face the obvious speed/size challenges against an NHL forecheck. - philco28
His team gave up 9? How many was he on for, and how many of those were his fault? |

That and freeing up a spot for next season. Raddysh had a contract next season and Holland is UFA after this season. They gotta make room for some of those young players. |
