I would also retain Kahun. With the current personnel, I like him with DeBrincat and Strome. Yet, assuming the top 6 can get new personnel to fill the LW and RW spots filled by Caggiula and Kahun presently, I would also prefer Kahun that play 3rd line ideally with Saad and a new 3C.
I know, lots to ask for as that is desiring 3 new players whether from the prospect pool, free agency, or trade. - AEL_Fox
Im fine with the forwards we have, we need NHL dmen, Bowman is doing a nice job building up the forwards especially after the Strome trade, rookie free agency.

I like him as well, he didn't produce points earlier but i enjoyed his effort on the ice. He's got some skill and a player who seems to be getting stronger or better as the season goes along, that's rare usually it's the other way around
He's also one of those players you can bounce up and down the line up - BetweenTheDots
Kubalik was a teammate of Kahun in the OHL, maybe he can be the third center, and another coup for the Hawks European Scouting staff

if craw is healthy and in game shape...despite the horrible defense he did not look like himself the 3-4 weeks he played...
the hawks at least in terms of key metrics are not playing all that much better ...certianly not defensively when they were losing...
the big difference is the puck is going in and the top 4-5 plus gus are on fire...still no secondary scoring: kruger, sikura, hayden, kunitz, arte, perlini...come on
as you stay a crappy WC this year and increased scoring around the league and fans fueled by MCD BS are getting taken in by this...
this is not a team made to compete and win in the playoffs - bogiedoc
This! I'm not understanding the assumption by a number of people on here that Crawford returning is going to be a significant upgrade in goal. If you go solely based on his reputation and his rings, OK. But, if you base it on his numbers before he went down again, definitely not a sure thing. They were worse than both Ward and Delia's stats.
I of course want him to return, I want him to be fully healthy, and I want him to play lights out. But expecting the latter to be automatic is wishful thinking. |

It doesnt matter wjo the goaltender is, anybody playing behind this Hawk defence is risking his life and health and also sacrificing whatever good statistics he may have built up over the course of his career that prove he was an NHL calibre goaltender.
Ward isnt great or much better tham average but when he signed I doubt he expected to be in a shooting gallery every night. Cro shouldnt hurry back, not good for his physical or mental health. |

#CBJ Panarin won’t face #Habs tonight due to illness. Torts was emphatic that Panarin’s absence is not to protect a potential trade asset: “He’s SICK... he poop his pants and he’s puking his guts out.”
Love the auto word change lol. |

Apparently a few are trading Kahun. I hope they can find someone to move Kahun down a slot. A 3rd line with Saad and Kahun is a nice start. IMO - Elbows15
I like that idea. If we're going to pair up forwards - Toews/Kane, Cat/Strome, and Saad/Kahun. It would be nice if Kahun could handle playing 3C.

Trade Kahun now so the Hawks don't have to worry about re-signing him. That's good GM'ing.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't understand the angst of the fanbase with this team. They have no expectations this year, and after winning 3 Cups all we can ask for is competitive and entertaining hockey. They have certainly been competitive in 2019, and have provided a lot of scoring (for and against) the entire season for entertainment. Yeah there is something to say about a hard checking, great goaltending game 1-0, but for this fan, I like watching the best players in the world put the puck in the back of the net. We got to watch 15 goals last night, and the game came down to a last second back door pass breakup or it could've been OT.
What's not to love about the direction of this team with Strome, Caggiulla, Kahun, debrincat growing their games while Toews and Kane play the best hockey of their Hall of Fame Careers?? - EnzoD

When it was mentioned the other day that Corey was "sick", nobody stated any specifics. Or, maybe I just missed it? Are we to assume that it was non-injury related? - gabriel
I ubered a member of the Blackhawks marketing team a few months ago and we talked about team and Crow.
He said Crow is dealing with much "bigger demons" than what the media is reporting.
Don't know exactly what he meant by this, but I suspect Crow may be abusing pills... |

Please be careful spreading rumors. Crow has a right to heal on his own, no matter what he is battling. |

In terms of getting scored on 4-5 PK Kampf/Saad/Kruger has the lowest goals against per minute of PK time for the team. I think the hawks biggest issue is having enough guys that can play PK effectively. There are some guys like Martinsen, Hayden, Fortin, Kunitz, Caggiula who have not had huge PK minutes, but got scored on on the occasions they got out there.
Schmaltz/Johnson didn't have much success.
Toews and AA have been okay, but not superb on the kill.
I think if the Hawks had one or two more really good PK forwards, the whole thing improves in a big way. Get the guys who shouldn't see PK time out of there. - breadbag
Yes, those are the best PKers. Toews has a lot of heavy lifting in other areas, like scoring, defending the top centers, d zone face offs as well. Asking him to shoulder the load on PK is asking a lot.
Saad’s speed and strength make him an ideal non-center on the PK. Probably the only one, along with 19, who is a threat for a shorty.
Just another area that this team really misses Hossa. |

I'm watching the Toronto/St.Louis game (2-0 Blues through 1). I really like Kapanen - the guy is tenacious and he can fly. Great shot, kills penalties. Stan - please try to get Kapanen to sign an offer sheet. He's worth the 2020 1st round pick it would cost. |

More reason to not trade Saad. He’s good for 20+ goals and effective on the PK (on a team not hurting for offense).

Interesting, but it doesn't surprise me.
Btw some don't criticize the Hawks, they focus on criticizing other bloggers who don't think, cheer, share information, think the same way they do. |

I'm not saying he would choose the Hawks over other offers he may get of equal value - maybe he wouldn't, I don't know. My point was that I hope Stan pursues it because he would be worth the 2020 1st round pick.

I've watched Edmonton play a few times over the past couple weeks for the purpose of watching Puljujarvi play. One game the coaches had him in the press box and the other games he did absolutely nothing. He's a slower Perlini. He looks clueless out there.
