I never got the allure with him. We needed to get Foote or Raddysh in that deal and we got neither.

he was amazing in the World Junior Tourney, that's biggest reason Rangers went gaga

Yeah, he didn't seem too bad in the pre season. Had some issues but nothing I thought would make him have only 5 points and a -25

Him and Lias really struggling down there.

On a serious note, when the (frank) has the Pack been relevant? Seems like they suck balls every year

I'll take that in return.

In the 1982 draft the Rangers picked Timex Tomas Sandstrom in the second round. The Rangers have drafted 263 players since they picked Sandstrom. Only one of them, Tony Amonte, drafted in 1988, has scored more than 30 goals as a Ranger. Only 2 others, Sergei Nemchinov in 1992 and Peter Prucha in 2002 have scored 30.....exactly 30. Soooo, that is one draft pick out of our last 263 players picked.in the last 35 years who has scored more than 30 goals. I am glad you have so much faith in our scouting staff and Gordie Clark. I don't. You keep hoping to stockpile all those draft picks. Don't get me wrong......I really hope....and pray.....they can pick some good players, even by accident. But you wonder why this team is where it is?Just look at their draft record over the last 35 years. It is PATHETIC. The main guys you are talking about trading for picks: Zuccarello, McQuaid, Namestakov and Hayes.....weren't even drafted by the Rangers.

so what's your suggestion, don't get draft picks because they have drafted poorly since 1982? this post is nuts

Not at you. I guess frustration at the deal (I wanted Foote back in any package) and the way Hajek has been playing

I saw it coming the day we made it. When you trade a #1 dman like McDonagh you have to get top guys back. Am I done with Hajek? No. But he hasn’t been good. Namestnikov sucks, said it from day 1 and Howden will be a good 3C. When you trade a top guy you need to get a top prospect like Foote back.

Rangers 1st round last year was great and Chytil could be a star, and they traded for Hajek

they are capable of making good picks and trading for lousy prospects too

it's all a crap shoot

His brother is the tb guy so maybe they’ll trade for him too, corner the market on radishes. Need some corns and broccolis now
- Slimtj100

Didn't realize there are two, I almost got excited that we got the NHL-ready model for peanuts, instead of the prospect.

they still got Lundkvist with the first rounder and look likely to get another 1st rounder this year too with the way Tampa is playing

this trade needs 10 years to truly evaluate

That’s y u have to get their top prospect, not someone you get excited about after 1 tourney. Again that’s not at u, just frustration with some of the decisions they make.

I really believe that McDonagh being hurt at the time of the trade last year hurt the return, but I know they were gaga over Hajek and Howden

At first glance this appears to be a good-win trade for the Rangers. I am wondering what Chicago's motivation was to do this. Are they trying to bolster their AHL team for the playoffs?
Either way, we got a young RH d-man for a player who was not in the Rangers future plans.

In Gorton we trust...
