I'm lazy and haven't backread or read the blog yet, so I apologize if this has been addressed, but what's up with Risto? He's day-to-day, and he only played 19:24 last night. I didn't notice him getting hurt.

Apparently he's a game-time decision tomorrow Housley didn't provide specifics, Bogo also hurt again. I think he gets a free coffee with his punch card on this one.

He needs to step his game up. We have all that talent (and money tied up) up front and no points to show for it

FYI, Eichel is barely "top" (or bottom, depending on how you want to view it) 100 in giveaways.

And the list of guys who have given it up more is pretty remarkable.

There are only two players in the top 25 PPG players in the entire league that don’t have at least one teammate also in the top 25. A few teams even have 3.

I’ll give you a hint, they are both American.

So Eichel is given next to no secondary scoring from other lines. He has turned a guy who averages around 25 goals a year in his career to the 2nd leading goal scorer in the league. He has a rotation on RW that involves a 36 year old Pominville, a former Islander who should probbaly call it quits and focus on his family, and a former 2nd overall pick who was also supposed to be a superstar that is just finally posting his first season of 51+ points.

What exactly is the problem here ? He is turning 2nd line talent into 70+ point players. I like both Reinhart and Skinner but Eichel is carrying them and if he got to play with other superstars then he’d be top 10 easily in PPG in the entire NHL.

There is no problem with Eichel. He’s great. If he doesn’t play 82 fantastic games a year he gets criticized

His FO% is up to 49% which is a career high, he is shooting a career worst 8.2% and Skinner isn’t a playmaker to say the least. Eichel scored at a higher rate with Reinhart on the ice but if we put all 3 of them together we are putting all of our eggs in one basket. Our PP is a disaster, tough for Eichel to get anything going there when everything runs through him and every team that has watched 10 seconds of tape realizes that.

Has he had the greatest of weeks ? Absolutely not. But he still has points in 7 of his last 8 games. To get 3 or 4 points in a game someone else has to have a big night too unless he’s scoring unassisted goals. I’m confused.

I'm a huge eichel fan.

I think he's maybe trying to do too much.?
Trying to hard? On his own?

He needs to make a difference vs. The rangers in the 3rd period when its 3-2 though...
