I really dislike blaming a coach, but there's enough talent on this team to not suck like this. I know it's popular to bash Housley here, but as the games go by, it seems more and more that he simply can't coach this group of players to the best of their abilities. Botterill used one season to "see what he had" then last season began to augment and upgrade the lineup. But between only having one threatening scoring line, two lines who barely do anything, only having one center above 20 points, multiple players who don't contribute to offense what so ever, and multiple below-replacement dmen, Botterill needs to find ways to upgrade in all areas. The 3 1st round picks are great, but there's little doubt he's going to need to use one to upgrade now.

you are close to a playoff spot
have 2 games you should win if you want to be in the playoffs


and they come out soft and flat and really are not in either game, vs the rangers and devils

You're probably right

But you have to remember not every concussion has the same symptoms, and some come on later than "normal"

I've had a few in my day and each time my symptoms were different

But you would think they would have left him at home for at least the first game and had him meet up later if he was doing well.
