Sure.....expect they’ve already said they’ll pre-negotiate deals to be traded. So fine, if the jets can’t do that than the jets will offer a package as though they were rentals......and Ottawa will simply trade them somewhere else for a much better return.

Appleton and Vesalainen are two of the top 3 prospects in the Jets camp who got A ratings;
Perreault is a third line winger who provides leadership to young players and is needed to make the cap work for the Jets;
1st round pick in 2019 speaks for itself;
The prospect of getting another 1st in 2020 also speaks for itself.

I am not giving up peanuts for Duchene and Stone and guaranteed no other fan out there offered a deal anywhere close to what I just did.

You have to look at Stone and Duchene seperately, Ottawa isn’t going to package them for a lesser return. Each player will command a 1st round pick, a top prospect and another young asset. Cecil will get a 2nd or 3rd round pick. So you’re looking at 7 quality pieces going back.

To OTT - Vesalainen, Samberg, Appleton, Petan, 2019 1st, 2020 1st, 2020 3rd.

I understand it looks like a ton, but if you want to match value, that is way closer than the proposal you made.

Appleton has also been on the roster playing well for about 20 games, and was top rookie in the AHL last year. Huge overpayment for rentals and not a step forward for the Jets.
