If you're going to rip on Simmonds, at least rip on him correctly. His goal scoring is not something you should be ripping him for... To put some perspective on this, If you put Simmonds into the Wings roster, he would rank 3rd highest goal scorer. Simmonds is not on our top line, nor does he get top PP minutes. And, you shouldn't rip on his willingness to step up and defend teammates. If you're going to rip on him, point out that +/- sucks - he has been a defensive liability.

Who said no one wants him? It not about wanting him, it's about how much it will cost to get him as a UFA, and how much it's going to take to keep him. I wouldn't mind keeping him on the roster. He's tough and scores. His defensive liability can be overcome with playing him with better defensive-minded forwards. The only problem is the dollars and the term of the contract to resign him. It is reported to be very high, at which case, I'd rather trade him.
