Kovalchuk to Boston does make some sense and I like it. If LA is prepared to eat 20% of his salary and the return package is a 2nd round pick at best. - Tachmo
Agreed on this. Kovy is not as bad as LA makes him look.
On Panarin, do not be surprised if the Hawks get him somehow and sign him long term and no Saad is not going to be part of it, lol |

I’ll definitely take a 2nd hell ill take a 3rd.
Like I said, I’d even be ok with 2 million retained. It’s getting a free assets for a guy that was signed in the off-season at no cost other than money. |

I think its a win win situation and a deal Sweeney needs to make. It gives the Bruins a top 6 winger for a 2nd or 3rd round pick and with LA eating 20% it puts Kovalchuk at 5 mil for 2 more years which is very affordable. The PP is already lethal, adding him could make it unstoppable.
Panarin would be unreal! But is it worth the cost for a rental and see him leave at seasons end, and this time next year Bos is still trying to fill that spot at the trade deadline. Bos can't afford to resign him.
The rental that makes sense that hopefully wouldn't cost as much is Hayes to fill 3rd line center. |

You missed the part where he was on 3rd/4th line duty. Yeah can’t produce much there especially on the kings. Also he was taken off the PP for whatever reason for quite a few games. He’s also on a team that can’t score.
He’ll be a factor on a playoff team.
He should have minimum 35 points 18 goals IMO on the year. - KINGS67
You missed the part where he passed. I agree with him. There is absolutely nothing other than Kopitar and Doughty worth anything on the Kings. Lose for Hughes and peddle your snake oil elsewhere. |

Nah. Pass. Kovalchuk doesn't have the stones for anything other than mediocrity. This team is playing for one another. Kovalchuk is the antithesis of that. |

I Agree with Wags,. what goes around comes around, the League will not say a word about waiving off the first goal, just look at the NBC overhead replay, puck was on edge you can see WHITE between the goal line and the puck, Bruins get screwed on the 1st questionable goal call, Sharks get screwed on the 2nd questionable goal call
Nothing you can do about it - BruinBlood
Funny that the NHL.com game reports mentions neither of those, eh?
https://www.nhl.com/news/...ks-game-recap/c-304944774
In fact, they do the opposite from calling out the controversy:
Wagner sent the game to overtime when he knocked his own rebound out of the air and poked it over the goal line to make it 5-5 after Jones got his right pad on Brandon Carlo's shot from outside the right circle and then again on Wagner's initial chance.
There is a quote from Debrusk about blown calls but if you hadn't watched the game, you'd have no clue what he was talking about because the recap sure doesn't mention either review.
From the Sharks POV - it's a lost point... hopefully it doesn't end up being the one point (or ROW) that costs the Sharks the Pacific. Just keep the streak going against Vegas tomorrow |

Indeed. No spot for him here. He has talent but zero heart. He is one player I would find it hard to root for in the spoked B.
I mean... his team in Russia made the playoffs and they didnt even want him to participate because he was such a locker room cancer. Sent him on his "individual program" because he is not a team guy. This would be a terrible idea. |

I'm happy with it... I like Coyle and hes pretty versatile. They still need a 2RW but I won't miss Donato as much as some other seem to |

I'm not generally a fan of giving up on prospects who have less than a full season of pro games under their belt. Donato has a chance to develop into a good player still. I do like the thought that Sweeney went after someone who has one more year left at a reasonable cap hit. I hope he is able to produce in the middle six role.
Still hoping Sweeney holds on to that first rounder and selects a halfway decent forward in the first round. I wonder if Sweeney is going to pull the trigger on anything else. |

He's probably gonna send that late 1st + to Ottawa for Dzingleberries.

Strong argument.
I change my mind.
I'd want Stone + assurance that he signs for less than he's worth. |

Nah, I just don't think it's worth another year of a 1st round pick for a rental. Simple as that |
