Trade skinner to the leafs for nylander
And hopefully he comes back to buffalo - gerbe75pts
He has a NTC and IMO doesn't intend to waive it. Skinner has all the leverage and he's using it to get the best contract extension he can get...here. But the notion that Botts would want to trade him for assets now and sign him in FA is a ridiculous pipe dream.
God, I so miss watching the Sabres in the playoffs. It was really a lot of gut-wrenching, emotion-filled fun.
Even when they didn’t win it all, it was a nice ride and it built rivalries. 80s vs Bruins and Habs, 90s vs Philly, TO in conference finals. 00s vs Sens.

Worked for Pittsburgh and Chicago. We can laugh at Edmonton all we want too but if they get Hughes or Kakko this year they are an average defense and goaltender away from winning a couple playoff series next year. While St.Louis, Montreal, Minnesota, Rangers, Columbus keep spinning their tires. San Jose finally made the power moves this offseason they should have made 10 years ago and if they don’t win the cup this year or next that’s 16 years of playoff experience with nothing to show for it. - Pegullaville
So with picks in the top 10 for seven straight years, and the first overall three times, and the player of this generation, they've reached the point of IF they can get another great pick this year they are only two key players away.
If the rebuild doesn't work this year we can rebuild the year after that.

I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt
after tonight
trade risto
trade mccabe
trade pommer
if skinner won't sign this week trade him
To be fair, they'd be tied for the first WC in the West. - Wetbandit1
I'm not in the mood for semantics. We just lost three in a row, in regulation to three non playoff teams 2/3 games against back up goalies and 1 with a goalie that is having a terrible season.

This is just a sad Buffalo excuse... You don't sit first overall in the NHL after Thanksgiving and not make the playoffs that year. It was a complete collapse - bluengold12

they didn't just drop 3
they did not compete in those 3 games, which makes it worse

I just love listening to these young fans, don't you?
Check the archives. Fitz and I have had a fight every blog for the last 3 weeks over the merit of a playoff experience versus the wheels coming off the bus. My valueless posts that are somehow mostly right. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so. - Pegullaville
Ya right, I argued about this team being trash and you said otherwise. I didn't know what I was talking about when I said Botts and Housley are going to be on the hot seat.
I was ahead of the curve it seems some of you are finally getting it.
