I swear, not kidding. Playoff hockey with your favorite team involved is just great. Brewing up a frothy stew of hatred for another team over a two week span; living and dying with every rush up the ice. Calls/non calls, cheap shots, desperate PKs, fist pumping PP conversions... |

So with picks in the top 10 for seven straight years, and the first overall three times, and the player of this generation, they've reached the point of IF they can get another great pick this year they are only two key players away.
If the rebuild doesn't work this year we can rebuild the year after that. - Der Kaiser
Blackhawks and Penguins have 6 of those cups. Idk if anyone remembers their years of irrelevancy. Pens picked top 2 four years in a row (and yes I’m well aware of the bulls**** luck of them getting Crosby) Blackhawks drafted Toews,
Kane, Seabrook. Kings drafted Kopitar, Doughty, Quick, Pearson, Toffoli. None of those team were built over night. |

Now that I have been proven right lets hope Pegula has had enough watching this garbage.
Botts let this team take a spiral down to garbage and did nothing to stop it. |

That it mightve been Gerbs reference. Couldn’t have been further off. Gonna hit the harder stuff now. |

Or the team was garbage the whole time and Botts didn’t try putting lipstick on a pig. Time will tell. He has possibly one more offseason to figure it out. |

He assembled this pig so your analogy makes no sense. He traded away ROR and Kane and got no proven NHLers in return
This is Botts roster. |

I'm with you .
It's been too long.
Next year
Next year
Next year
I'm beyond tired of hearing next year with these Buffalo teams.
It's like failure is acceptable?
I'm an Indians fan too.
But at least they give me some playoff fun before they leave me in despair as an avid sports fan.
These young folks haven't been around long enough to fully understand. |

Completely agree. If Botts is actually sitting there thinking, “Wonderful! Everything here is going exactly as planned.”, then we’re worse off than I thought. |

He tried making short term low risk adds to improve the roster without adding long term baggage. He inherited a lot of the roster from GMTM. |

Exactly, he has two off seasons and traded two stars in ROR and Kane.
What do we have to show for our two off seasons and the ROR and Kane trade?
Draft picks? Great, maybe that will pay off in 3-4 years from now. |

You keep making excuses. ROR trade should have gotten us stacked not washed up Berglund and Sobotka. Cap dumps. |

You don't actually think he's sitting there thinking that, do you?
He came from a winning organization and had a huge hand in that. |

Botts has added enough futures to stock the pipeline. He definitely needs to be busy in free agency and make a hockey trade or two in the offseason to get this team back into the playoffs next year. Jets, Preds, Leafs, Lightning have been building towards where they are right now for several years. |

Some guy who spoke out for not liking to lose just scored the overtime winner against the Leafs....
As pretty much the only guy on here who hated the trade since it happened. (Go ahead and search the pages from then) I feel slightly vindicated with these results. |

At this moment we have nothing to show on the roster for ROR and Kane.
Let that sink in. |

I personally do not. No way. But I feel like hardcore fans of JB feel he’s incapable of mistakes. And therefore, this season must just be a part of a grandiose plan that’s working splendidly. |

In all honesty, who cares?
We all see how far away we are right now, right?
O’Reilly + Kane doesn’t make us a contender right now.
They’d be targets of criticism like everyone else

Kane was a UFA they weren’t going to resign. ROR trade looks terrible short term but very well could still work out for Buffalo a few years down the line. It’s too early to tell. You very well could be right and Thompson and the first rounder turn out to be nothing but until that happens how can we really judge ? What if we draft a Barzal or Boeser to add to the top 6 ? We really have no clue. |

I can judge because Housley and Botts will be fired before those draft picks hit the nhl. |

I guess some wounds just never heal. I’m still bummed we let Peca go the way we did. But he did lead us to a SCF. |
