That said,
- Botts did bring in a significant portion of the Cap issue with those players
- those players are struggling to get to 78 points...the same total the 2016-2017 disaster of a roster earned
- brought in a coach who is now on the hot seat

The point is he should not be absolved and given a pass based on "he inherited a mess". I submit that there is justified reason to be concerned.
I want to see what he can do, so I am not advocating for his removal, just that he does have alot to prove.

This is more than fair. He absolutely has more to prove. Like Ryan Stimson said in the Athletic article a couple weeks ago. He's doing a pretty decent job, and the team overall has improved on paper. But Housley is looking more and more like a misfire.

I would have taken a shot at Brassard, they were talking about him.

My thoughts are they shouldn't use future assets to go after an aging vet, although his cap hit is certainly manageable.
If they want to expend assets to acquire, I'd prefer somebody younger than 26 and have like 3 years left n a reasonable contract.
