Kid (if he keeps this up) is going to want to get paid.

Slavko Bekovic
@SBekovic

How good is Alex DeBrincat? Since the start of the 2017 season, he has more goals than:

Vladimir Tarasenko
Brad Marchand
Gabriel Landeskog
Phil Kessel
Jamie Benn
Sidney Crosby
Mark Scheifele
Mikko Rantanen
Johnny Gaudreau
Sebastian Aho
Claude Giroux
Artemi Panarin

True, but how many hits does he have? I think DeBrincat needs some additional seasoning in Rockford. Maybe another 2-3 years, just to be safe.

Sadly, They might be better against a 5 on 3 than just being a man down.

More importantly, the Hawks were outhit 13-6. Soft hockey doesn’t win games.

I think they are still using goals to decide games.

Are we really gonna get caught up on style points each night?

That period belonged to Ward. Great goaltending to keep us in it. Detroit will score 5 before this is over, gotta hope our guys can bury 6 or 7....

I really like how they are playing a lot of hockey 150 feet away from Ward.
Whatever the shots say the ice is tilted towards the Red Wings zone, several times line 1 had the puck over a minute in the Red Wings zone

I wonder....do they (refs) retroactively call the 4 minute double minor for high sticking....and Hawks begin the 2nd with a 27 second 5 on 3 against???
Then a further 3 1/2 minutes short handed. If so, likely 3-3 by the 2 minute mark.

For those not liking the man to man and its mixed defensive results, it was interesting watching Tampa and Philly last night. It was noted a few times how Philly struggles in their own end playing a zone. Players are too stationary and struggle to react with motion to the play.

This is why many teams risk the man to man. Playing zone with all the speed and skill in the game today is akin to playing the prevent defense in the NFL.

The hawks are playing the same style as Gerard Gallants Vegas team that went to cup final last year. Sure they give up chances, but they play with relentless energy for a full 60 minutes. It is honey badger hockey. Players love it.

The Hawks have a top 10 offense. 3 balanced scoring lines. Again, many may not like the style points and long for the days of a shut down third line and an energy 4th line, but that is not how rosters are structured in the league anymore.

Nope - apparently Toews caught him in the eye with the blade under his visor. Toews is a menace with that high stick. Knocked out Kanes 2 front teeth and now takes out Cagguila's eye.

Not good for our 1st line that was gelling quite well. DBC will have to double shift in his hometown.

I’m still willing to give Colliton an off-season and a training camp to get everyone on the sameness page. I know it’s AHL, but he had the Hogs playing pretty good D last year.

All things considered, he's got the Hawks playing pretty well. Wins and losses is what counts, not analytics

Even with this poopty defense

Yep, the trend is clear. Some are not sold on having one of the best records in hockey over the past 20 plus games.

While I see what many complain about, the struggles in their own end and on PK, but if you step back and look, it can only get better.

The GAA and PK are league worst, yet they have crawled back into middle of the league.

Its like zero interest rates....you are at the bottom, they can only go up.
