Any trade involving Gustav Forsling is complicated by the fact that every other team in the NHL has professional scouts that can see what we all see. Forlsing ain't that good. - Rota's Rooter

Caggiulla got injured?? Also, per Elliot Friedman via Second City Hockey...
“I’ll tell you like... they’re trying to trade Anisimov. I’m not wading into to the (Brent) Seabrook thing again,” Friedman said around the 45-minute mark. “I got enough out of that one this year. I just think they’re in a position where they’re going to go for it because there’s a lot of pressure there to go for it.”

He’s still young enough to be intriguing to another GM, I just wouldn’t expect much in return. I think because he’s been talked about for several years now, some people forget that he’s still young, especially for a D-man. |

Fun Fact I heard on the Radio this AM...
If you count only the games that Strome has played in Chicago, 4 of the Hawks top 6 Forwards are Point Per Game players.
If they keep that up, they will win a few more games before this season is over. - Ogilthorpe2
What an unusually bright and sunny post from Ogi.

John Tortorella has always liked AA. Says he knows how to play the game. (Unlike Anthony Duclair). |

Never thought of that in this context. Thinking you may be on to something. BTW, old Jocelyn was a fun guy to watch play. Couldn't score a lick, but could send you flying. - gabriel
No one likes to bring it up because they feel sorry for what happened to him, but Konstantinov was on of the dirtiest pieces of poop to ever lace them up. (frank) him. |

Interesting cause I listened to Friedman's segment on NHL radio this morning and he said that the Hawks are only going to make hockey trades to improve the club and no rentals, I wonder what the Hawks are looking for in return. |

Good ole #26. One of my favorite Hawks. I remember a game against the Blues where he fought Harold Snepsts and cut him up pretty good. |

It seems likely Stan will do nothing before the TDL because even if the plan is to trade Anisimov - doing so now may upset the momentum and good vibes they have right now and they probably don't want to do that, and I'm in agreement with that sentiment. Just let things play out and enjoy the ride - if they make the playoffs - great, if they don't - not a big deal.

That's one of my favorite fights of all time. Joce could throw them for sure. Remember when we'd line up Peluso, Joce and Grimson against the Probert line. Probably my favorite Hawk period other than the Cup wins of late of course. |

Saad and Arty have helped spread out the capable NHL'ers in the line up and helped limit the learning curve for the young guys. I think if Hagelin could net a 3rd round pick, their are other depth moves to be made to secure depth in your bottom six. |

He's under contract through 2021. I'd much rather they do not retain any salary for two more years, and have more mobility to sign/resign players.
Moving him now is not imperative. If they get blown away with an offer, great. If not you hang onto him. They don't really have anyone on the roster right now to fill his role anyway (unless/until Kampf comes back). - Chunk
Absolutely.
If we are to retain salary for the duration of AA's contract then why trade him at all at this point? Retaining $2M would be one heck of a bargain for the team attaining him. After July 1, they could flip him for more than we got for him. Teams like Ottawa needing to reach the cap floor would snap him up immediately.
I am hoping that Bowman is smarter than that. Keep him until July 1 and trade him after paying his bonus and after his movement clauses expire. No future Cap implications. Right now I would bet that Ottawa's of the League are not on his trade list. |

And contrary to popular thought, the same GMs do not rely on HB Scouts to project a players potential.
All of these players, those people like or dislike are all 30 to 40 games into a new system.
I like Forsling and do not believe he will be moved unless something comes back that is useful. There is no point in giving him away for a pick, unless he just is not in your plans. Which I do not think is the case. |

AA, Boqvist, and a pick for Seth Jones. |

Well if you listen to the podcast, Friedman say he THINKS Chicago is in position to make a trade, not that they are actively shopping anyone.

Adding capable bottom 6's may actually improve our PK and overall defensive game. This should not cost a lot. Our top 6 right now can go against most top 6's in the NHL.
I am hoping that this is the route Stan takes because it will not derail our rebuild. |

It's a tough spot for Stan to be in. Does he make moves to add top guys by mortgaging the stock pile he has worked hard to create? Or does he make some low cost hockey trades to improve existing holes? It's not an easy spot to be in, especially when McD is over his shoulder asking how they are going to fulfill his prophecy of having a playoff roster.
I look at a lot of these deadline options and cant imagine what Jarmo in CLB is thinking with his current predicament. How can you move Panarin without getting the piece back that says youre still looking at winning the Cup? If Nashville is asking for Panarin, you have to think Jarmo is asking for Arvidsson for starters as the scoring fill vacated by Panarin. |
