Clean hits? Matter of opinion. Some people think Fergie's music is better than Mozart as well.

- winsix

No it's not an opinion. It's a fact. There was nothing illegal regarding the kadri or Matthews hits.

Marner's deal will clarify all that. And I don't think the world is ready for Marner to be making more than Kucherov.
- gravyface

Nope.

And it's easy to draw up a list of comparables to what Marner brings too - Gaudreau, wheeler, Kuch etc - as a way to keep him at a reasonable hit.

In terms of contract, Severson and Pesce are basically a wash. Pesce is the better player, but either one has value at that cap hit.

There's a few - Stralman is the standout name (apart from Karlsson, who we aren't getting for obvious reasons). Beyond that there's a couple of depth guys like Jensen.

I keep seeing Jensen popping up. I'm not too sure about him, he hasn't played very long. Not sure he is a guy im confident about playing top 4 minuets in the playoffs

Yeah, Jensen is more of a bottom pair guy who you can throw out without too much worry for 10-15 mins a night.

They could hire Jake Dotchin to the sports science division - he'll get them heavier in just one summer

I agree they were both clean hits. Kadri saw the hit coming and chose to take it to make a play.

Hope he plays tonight. He really has that team distracted.

I'd like to see a Jensen trade.

My fear is that we could get drew (frank)ing doughty and hainsey still plays more than him at like 20mins/game

Dunn left his feet, Trouba bee lined and took 10-12 strides before taking out Matthews. It is an opinion.

He's been very good this year, and quite frankly for the cost, hed slot right in for us. He should be our main target IMO. We should have already pulled the trigger.

LOL you missed how weak and girly they are.

There must be a mistake in this report. Leafs are actually one of the tallest and heaviest teams.

Trading for d-men seems tough. I liked the Muzzin trade. He's a d-man that can be top four on most teams. Frankly, Jensen is bottom pair guy on a good team, the bigger issue for Dubas if he can do it at the deadline is moving Zaitsev and replacing him with a top four. Easier said than done. A nice RHD not many talk about is Klingberg. Cost is likely too great. Top four RHD with a great cap hit. If we are talking a rental or a bottom pair guy I'd take McQuaid over Jensen.

Umm the 10-12 strides is an incorrect opinion.
Both were clean hits.
Troubas was great, wish we had leaf players that did that.

People banging on this heavy bs narrative need to log off and not come back, obvious they don't watch hockey.

It's hilarious.

- burn

People who misunderstand what is meant when others say "heavy" should log off

Right? How many heavy teams are heading to the playoffs right now in the league?

Of those teams, how many have a legit intimidating roster physically? Blues? Winnipeg?

The only thing that worries me is that this PP never clicks again at the pace it was at earlier this year (or last two seasons), then teams can have their way with us and not fear the retribution.

- gravyface

Heavy: not referencing weight or fighting
Heavy: teams who finish checks.

No youre right, he skated from the boards, avoiding other players just to run matthews.

He finished a hit.
It was a good hit.

Uh people arent talking about Kingberg because he's not even close to available. He was in the running for Norris last year, and Dallas is in a playoff spot

Lets put it this way, Jensen >>>> Hainsey/Zaitsev and most definitely McQuaid

So, I know what Id prefer to do.

McQuaid will hurt the team more than he will help and then he will hurt himself in the process. It's literally his MO

That Jets roster is not as good as people give it credit for. I actually don't think their D is very good.
