McQuaid will hurt the team more than he will help and then he will hurt himself in the process. It's literally his MO
- RickJames77

He'd be an OK last dman for toughness, but Jensen is certainly a big upgrade over him.

Mackenzie on tsn radio yesterday morning saying the leafs may trade Johnson or kapanen if they feel they will have issues resigning them this summer. Maybe use them to find help on the right side blueline.
- burn

Yes.
People have been saying that on here for quite some time.

Heavy: not referencing weight or fighting
Heavy: teams who finish checks.

- Fakepartofme

Toronto is has the 3rd fewest hits per game and the lowest Cap hit lost per game due to injury.

In the Babcockian Dictionary, heavy means different things than the traditional way.

He talks about "playing" heavy, heavy on your stick, hard on the puck. Heavy used to mean big and mean; synonymous to physical.

My point still stands: there are not a lot of heavy teams out there.

That Jets roster is not as good as people give it credit for. I actually don't think their D is very good.
- RogerRoeper

It is a good roster.
Just in a rut.
Kinda like when the leafs were .500 for about 20 games earlier this year.
The jets are 4-4-2 in the past 10 games and are still 36 - 20 on the season.

It's the ebb and flow of the season. poop the bruins were just barely in a wild card spot 2 to 3 weeks ago and are now 9-0-3 in their last 12 and 4 pts up on the Leafs for second (2 more GP). There are runs and there are ruts, somewhere in the middle is what the team actually is.

so what does a Chris Kreider cost?? Brooks suggesting that Leafs have inquired (among others). Can we obtain him without trading a roster player?

Kreider - Matthews - Nylander
Hyman - Tavares - Marner
Johnsson - Kadri - Kapanen
Marleau - Goat - Brown

Likely not. As any move we make has to be a money in-money out move...

I would really like Kreider on the Leafs.

Maybe, Kreider and McQuaid for Brown, Zaitsev and a 2nd rd pick?

That would be nice, but not enough for the Rangers IMO.

Johnsson will be part of that package if Kreider goes to Leafs.
Kreider would be the perfect linemate for Matthews.

I never knew this existed:

The NHL explains their reasoning behind suspensions.

I have to give props to the NHL here: that's pretty cool.

And I agree with the suspension here: he got 2 games for excessive stupidity, not viciousness.

They've been doing it for a few years now.
