I'm not talking about the Colorado game. but rather the recent slump where we won something like 2 in 7. No one should be making judgements based on one game. Perreault works hard but he's been as ineffective as Laine for about the last 20 games. He is killing what was a pretty damn good 3rd line before he showed up. I'd switch him with Lemieux for a game or two and I'm pretty sure you'd see where the problem was.

No I was not. I was talking 20 year old Ovechkin vs. 20 year old Laine.

There is no comparison. Ovechkin was a rookie due to the lockout happening a year before. Based on the fact that Laine had already played two years more than Ovechkin, he at 20 should have been light years ahead of a 20 year old Ovechkin.

I’d say the fault is almost all the way on Maurice, and the only light at the end of the tunnel for us is the entire coaching staff being fired after the inevitable round 1 collapse were stumbling towards

There is a difference between creating scoring chances as opposed to capitalizing on them. Matty P can sure create, but not many pucks end up behind opposing goalies when he is on the ice.

It's pretty sad when Sheif starts getting blamed for the Jets recent woes or even the top line for that matter. Sheif is everything you'd ever want in a player. A true gentleman, a hockey nerd who studies game tape after game tape, a fitness nut, and all heart. Give it a break. He's not going to get three points every game. I'll take 12 Scheifs any day over just about any other forward you could put in the lineup. It's asinine to blame him for the recent malaise.

The fault lately clearly falls on the likes of Laine, Perreault, Trouba, even Morrisey, lack of Buff being there, and a few others, and the PP. I'm driving in from Palm Springs to take in the Vegas game in the box , I'll see if I can get more colour on the trade scene while I'm there. I'm told Ehlers might dress but its a game time thing.

Ehlers can't fix the kind of issues the Jets have had lately but can be part of the solution.

I was wondering the same, but possibly another big physical player to match up with the Paraykos, Reaves, Wilsons that are out there.
