It doesn't matter.
There is absolutely nothing that suggests this team is in any way different than last year's team.
Boston is going to take their lunch money, again. - Aetherial
Tavares > Bozak + JVR
Rielly is a PPG D-man
Emergence of Johnsson and Kapanen
Marner and Matthews having their best seasons
Mid-season addition of Muzzin
Not working...blow it up. Bring back KomaGOD, Martin, and Polakster. |

Anderson best numbers as a leaf.. literally the only things that are holding up another record breaking year is the power play and the backup tenders numbers |

I am concerned about the powerplay though. |

Plus 40 goal differential and the best even strength record in the league. But we don’t stand a chance against Boston. |

They are better than last year but that doesn't mean they are good enough to beat the Bruins. It's not a coincidence that the Bruins are once again putting together a solid win streak to take home over 2nd when it matters the most.
The Leafs obviously have the individual talent but the team has holes and they seem to lack the experience to put together a consistent level of play. Hopefully it comes with time but I am guessing that if they are able to become a consistent contender, that team will look pretty different than the one they have right now. |

One half of a poop period and they would have knocked out the booins last year.. at the moment the leafs aren’t playing their best and the bruins are playing very well.. it happens.. maybe they get home ice maybe they don’t .. if they play like they’re capable they are better than the booins 4 times out of 7 regardless of where they play |

We'll see.
This team is soft. Soft is not good in the playoffs
But.
Hoping they outscore the Bruins |

While they were leading in that game, that doesn't tell the story of the series. The Bruins were pretty dominant and were up 3-1 in games. The Leafs had to claw back into it and force a game 7 but it could have easily been over in 5. It was admirable that they did it, but they were never in control and if they had won game 7 it would have been more that the Bruins faltered rather than the Leafs were the better team.
They've gotten better this year but so have the Bruins. I obviously hope you're right but so far I haven't seen much to indicate that they are clearly the better team. At best it's a toss up right now which is why I think home ice would be huge, any little edge will help. |

Brown and Hainsey..
Dubas needs to neuter Babs and trading away his two most overplayed “pl’rs” is the best way to do it. |

Would you guys hate Mcquaid for a 3rd or 4th? 7th dman for PO depth - nyrangers2
Little late on this one but after watching tonight's frustrating game, 4th it is.
McQuaid could really punch Wilson's face, hard.

In the interest of fairness and truth, does anybody have the numbers for the Leafs last year after 60 games? Like GF, GA, PP%, PK%, S/PG etc. after 60 games.
I found they were 35-20-5 after 60 games last year (75 points).
This year, 36-20-4 (76 points).
But more than that I can't find. |

Toughness is kind of a young man's game and Wilson is right in that sweet spot of age. That's kind of why he got his big contract. I'd be skeptical that McQuaid or anybody his age would be willing (or able) to deal with Wilson. Even Simmons seems like his tough days are fading. |

Muzzin individually is a very good defensemen. I still like the trade.
I don't think Babs is wrong is juggling the pairs either. Havn't really liked the looks of the pairings either.
I'm probably much more a Gardiner supporter than most but damn I'm ready to move on too. Much like JVR and Bozak, a talented player from the old guard that I'd rather just have a fresh start with. Overall a good game but the female dog out on Wilson was cringey as (frank).
I can't think of a single precedence but I wish there as a realistic avenue to trade him for a similar impact D for the playoffs.
