Nope. You just get a new job with great co-workers, and life improves immeasurably.
Oh, that’s my life. You mean for Buffalo sports fans? Yes. Pain is inevitable. But someday … someday … there will be a someday. |

I'm not sold on the Matt Duchene rumors to Buffalo. I just don't see us trading for him. Maybe in July when he's a FA, and that's a big maybe. He would be a nice fit though in the top 6.
The Sens play tonight so I wonder if the Big 3 are moving today. Once those guys get traded, the floodgates will open. |

Love the Skinner scrum last night with Point. The dude is an agitator. And nice to see Risto brought his balls to the game. |

I pray to god that Duchene is never in a Sabres uniform. |

You don't like him? Wasn't he part of that limo ride that got the HC fired or something?

Regardless of chance, a C depth of Eichel, Duchene and Mittelstadt would be of epic proportions. |

two things from last night. If the Sabres played like that and lost every single game I would not say a word. best Effort game in like 2 months. Same said for Risto. I thought he was absolutely a beast last night, he did give the puck away a bunch if times, but if you are that physical the whole game I can live with your mistakes

I'm telling you, Risto hates Russians. His biggest "rivals" are Kucherov and Ovechkin. They're always at each other's throats in every game. - Wetbandit1
He hates Phaneuf too. Big wussy tried to run him and just bounced off of Risto all night. This was at the LA game in buffalo last year.

That has nothing to do with it..... I just don't want to pay 9 million for a 55 point player. The way people talk about him its like he has done something in his career. Career high of 70 points and that was 8 years ago. Has not cracked 60 points since then. I think he may be the most over rated/over hyped player in the league right now. |

Salary coming off the books is one thing, Botts being able to bring guys in is the real problem.
Since free agency started players don't want to come to Buffalo. If They do come here its because Pegs threw money at them and I think that era is over. - sabresfan69
Football players yes
Hockey players that's not true

While the center depth would be great I would rather throw big money at Stone and find a reasonable vet to hold down that 2C until Mitts takes it over |

I also think GM's have started to smarten up and not throw insane money around.
However there will be one GM that pays him $9 million a year
But you're right I wouldn't want to give him that.

I agree.....
I brought this up the other day. Pitts is up against the cap pretty hard next year,. I think that have 78 Mil committed all ready.
if we could, would you take Malkin for 9 mil for the next 4 years? Pitts just sign Jake G to a long term deal, they are gong to have to move someone and malkin make a lot of $$$$ and is 32.
Then we would have Eichel, Malkin and Mitts up the middle. Sign Skinner and Maybe a Steady D man and its a totally different look. |

I don't know who wrote it on twitter but I agree:
Duchene is ROR-light with bigger contract demands. |

Sounds a lot like ROR. Being a Sabres fan, I have only a minor interest in other teams, especially western conference teams.
Judging by this board, fans (including super-fan gms) always get pumped up about players who turn out to not be the answer.
ROR, Moulson, Okposo, Leino(2nd best FA since B Richards wouldn’t come here) Neidermeyer, Regehr,
Either we get them 3 years to late or they suck money balls straight up.
My word of caution is that the grass is always greener with these supppsed “answee” players. They seldom work out.
ROR and Duschene are not with Colorado, how are they doing?

He averages 62 points/season. 9M? No. But I'd give him ROR money no doubt. |

He had 70, 8 seasons ago and had 67, 10 seasons ago. He has never touched 60 any other year. |

Well if you’re trying to make a point about his production and how he’s not good anymore I’d say it matters. |
