Sink.... Good read BTW.
Professional teams always talk about the core.
Who are the Sabres core right now and are they locked up long term (meaning more than 3 years). That is what Botts need to focus on. I assume he has been evaluating what has been the worst teams over the past 4 years.
Jack, sure. Dahlin, of course. Both are young. Sam, wasn't sure so he gave him a bridge deal. Risto is solid at his cap hit. Skinner was a find and he needs to take care of business without breaking the bank. Botts brought in 6 players that just haven't worked out. There are a ton of factors and reasons for that. Blame is everywhere. Good news is the team is better and is looking brighter. The cupboard is getting full and with a large compliment of picks, we have options. I believe in Botts and hopefully we can clean out the non core players and get some experienced but not too old blood that fits.
This was Okposo no excuse year, healthy etc. I was hoping for a rebound, didn't happen. Enough has been said about him and it is something we need to deal with. He is a core problem.

I love the Sabres, love the game of Hockey but I just can't emotionally give this team any more.
I will start to care when the "process" is complete and when teams say we are the "good team in the locker room over there"..... - hehateme
Watch the "May Day" goal and the Drury goal to tie and Afiniganov overtime to win against the Rangers. Youtube have these. It may make you feel better.

In less than two seasons, more than half of the Sabres’ 21 players can be attributed to Botterill: Carter Hutton, Vladimir Sobotka, Lawrence Pilut, Rasmus Dahlin, Jason Pominville, Casey Mittelstadt, Sheary, Hunwick, Skinner, Tage Thompson and Nathan Beaulieu.
I think Botts need to be better in this regard... Drafting He appears to be better than most of the other GM's we had, but really we won't know for years if this is true or not.
Pro player he needs to be better... |

I've actually not watch much of the last three games... maybe a period.... Sucking will do that I suppose. Try to decide if it even worth turning it on tonight, I suspect they will play well but loose still.
Michael what happened to Nathan Beaulieu I thought he was playing pretty well at the beginning of the year?????? It seems he is just in the dog house for something. |

The ROR trade is really the only negative value trade I see here. |

I'm sorry but, what credit does Botterill get ? he traded for Skinner........... am I missing something? we have been doing this draft, picks, prospects stuff for years now and it's been long enough. This organization filled with excuses as to how we need to have " patience" and need to " develop". enough already. How much longer should we waste Eichel and CO. ? He has more then enough ammo to make this team better, this is all crap, same crap we have been hearing for years now. Same show, different GM. |

the Kane trade is a monumental loss to... actually the only trade that was a win was skinner... and if they don't sign him I see that as a loss to. |

he must have rubbed someone the wrong way to be in the pressbox as often as he's been....I get that indirectly asking for a trade probably didn't sit well, but they've really kept him nailed to the pine since then

It's a joke already and we still can't beat the Panthers, Canes or Islanders. Let alone the Caps, Leafs, Pens and Bruins. |

Even once in a blue moon when Darcy made a trade, it was typically a good one |

I heard he would move 1 maybe 2 of the 1st round picks we have but, i'm sure he will sit on them and in 5 years we will talking about the same thing. |
