Pretty sure Jensen is a top 4 defenseman.
- deadpoulet

I think he's pretty much a Jordie Benn.

3 years younger I guess.

I wish I was not doing «le mois sans alcool».

So Duchene to CBJ, eh? Should buy them a playoffs spot (in theory).

- deadpoulet

I don't know that it should tbh...I'm glad the Habs stayed away from Duchene and not because of the rumoured attitude problem but because of his numbers over the years, i just never really liked him that much as a player tbh. I do think the Jackets can overtake the Canes though...although without Bob and Panarin that could be hard...but they're still there for now

Yeah, they suck. But he was a top 4 with them.

For what it's worth Karine, I think most of your usual "trolls" are actually just messing with you and you should/could just treat them like the idiotic fools that they are and laugh it off.

This being said, you're doing a great job as our Habs blogger! Keep it up!

- Scabeh

Thanks, it's nice to get some positive comments from time to time. And I will don't worry, I like writing too much to stop

Caps sign Jensen to a 4 years 2.5M per year contract.

Jordie Benn now has his comparable.

- Scabeh

I don't think Benn will be hard to resign really, he seems to enjoy this team and the city, I don't see him asking for the moon especially since he's been performing well only once on the 3rd pairing.

Ok.

He's a bottom pair guy on a good team.

Just like Jordie Benn.

Why would they make a move for a huge rental and then move two key guys? I guess we neve know, but I don't see the logic in that.

I agree that Benn will probably be open to coming back.

But would he accept a 1 or 2 year deal?

Because with the likes of Juulsen, Brooks and Fleury coming up on the right side in near future.... I don't think we can afford to give him more than that.

Maybe they figure they have a better chance to woo Duchene than Panarin who doesn't like Columbus and Bob's said he wants out too...just gave themselves an edge to negotiate with Duchene I guess...

I fear another team might offer him just that.

Despite him loving the team and the city, he'll probably take another year of contract over it.

He's kind of a question mark,no? Unless the Habs know things that we don't.

I don't think Benn will break the bank this summer, but with the cap rising, I think we will see third liners and 6th defensemen getting more money.

2.5M per year for 3 years?

Someone will offer him that.

I don't think we'll match it.

And yes Juulsen is a question mark, here's to hoping he gets better. We need him!

I wouldn't say I fear losing Jordie Benn at all, he's been doing ok in a lesser role but they have to make room for the youth

There's always someone to overpay...If the player wants that and doesn't want to play in MTL, good we don't want people who don't want to be there. Time will tell but i'll tell ya, it's not gonna annoy me as much as losing a player like Radulov who's an impact player and not a depth one.
