As much as Voracek can frustrate me sometimes I don't think it's in the Flyers best interests to trade him. I'd rather they add to the forward corpse than subtract. Sign Stone as a UFA or trade for someone else in the off season to bolster the team. TDL prices are always jacked up wouldn't be a good move for Fletcher to fall into the trading for Stone competition as the contenders who want to add will drive the price up significantly. I believe the Flyers are going to trade Simmonds and probably get back a first and a good prospect. That'll give them 2 firsts in the up coming draft and a great prospect pool to use to make trades in the off season if they want to.

Have to look at the future cap situation and really good young players such as Provorov, Sanheim, Konecny and Patrick who are going to need new contracts soon. It's tough to have many player signed to high dollar contracts along with that. Switching out Voracek and adding Stone if possible improves the team and gives more cap flexibility.

Eric Wellwood was a fast skater...is that all that really matters?

Not every player needs to have generations skills in each aspect of his game there are lots of guys that raise the cup every year that we would never pine for on the Flyers...Isn't Carbomb a 2 time cup winner??? My point is you don't give away either one of those guys as they have a valuable role to play on the Flyers moving forward for the foreseeable future anyway...

Eric Wellwood would be defined as a a good skater, good player? Not so much. As i stated, I like Lindblom and want him on the team, he just isn't in the skates well category.

I think his scenario was referring to having one instead of both.

Definitely. If they do go after Stone or another big money player, cap space would have to be found somewhere to sign all those younger players. Personally I'd get rid of JVR before Voracek. I think a majority of the fan base really undervalues what Voracek brings to the table. The guy has the ability to be a game breaker every night.

Imagine the Flyers get a 1st for Simmonds and then move Voracek at the draft for another 1sr rounder.

Could be nice ammo to make a play to move up or even get someone like Trouba or someone else you might have been weary of giving up a 1st for.

I'd prefer if they make the announcement now, but I guess I get it. They are going to try everything to get the event in tomorrow.

I know he was, but if Stone is actually seeking 10M as reports suggest that's nearly 2M less to work with for whatever resigned players or add ons

I could see Voracek getting you something like what Carter brought back from Columbus. Young NHL player(Voracek), 1st(Couturier) and 3rd(Cousins).

I think that is how it worked out.

I get that. Personally I think getting Stone at 2m more is worth the cap space over Jake Voracek.

I think Giroux has been fine still creating opportunities and offense out there just hasn't capitalized this past stretch of games. It looks like playing center takes away from some of his freedom to be a creator on the offensive side of things because he has to worry about his own end of the ice first. In a perfect world the Flyers would sign a good 2c in the off season or trade for one so G can get moved back to wing.

Average skater, strong on his skates but not much speed or quickness.
