Not thrilled about Elliot getting the start but I understand it. If Hart is the player we think he is then this should motivate him.

I have no issue with Elliott starting this game. Hart hasn’t been great these last two (team in front of him was more of an issue, I know) and this being Philly, I kind of expected it. If anyone thinks this move will negatively affect Hart’s confidence going forward, then he shouldn’t be in the NHL. Great goalies are mentally strong, and from reading some of his comments about not playing, he’s handling it like a mature pro. This kid has a bright future, but Gordon has to go with who he feels looks better right now. I think I’d be more worried that if they actually went with him, he could have another bad start. The weather conditions aren’t going to be good for the goalies tracking pucks. Let Elliott deal with that tonight, and hopefully he plays well enough to get us something back in a trade.

Talbot joined team Wednesday and has been with them ever since. They only had an optional practice a morning skate and than one practice tonight before the game tomorrow. Likely meaning they didnt feel comfortable with him going. Hart got a helmet specifically designed with the pre game and theme in mind with the eagles cause he was prior told he would start. Than they changed it on him. He should of never started Thursday. And it's an absolute black eye on the organizational dysfunction. It makes sense to start elliot. But should of never started hart Thursday

I would like to see documentation that Hart was told that far in advance he was going to start the outdoor game. Either way calling it a black eye on the organization over who is the starting goalie in the game is way over the top.

I see why Elliott is starting. Rather see hart though. Regardless I can't see us winning this. We never beat the pens in philly and are 0 and 3 so far in these outdoor games. Yikes.

Also gonna be weird hearing Elliott booed when lineups announced.
