Well when a team struggles the coach normally pays the price. With the current coach, they had a long losing streak followed by a long winning streak and now have lost two in a row. What will happen? Two games in a row they came out not ready to play at the pace of the opposition. That is not a new problem. - MJL
I agree but everyone within the organization from the start of this season until now has had equal parts in this failure. It's just an easier move replacing 1 coach and 1 GM than 18 skaters and a goalie. |

Again, why was the game last night different? You haven't answered that. You haven't answered where the cut off point is. - MJL
How many times do I have to say there is no exact time line or date. Things change daily. If they win last night and Carolina loses i might feel different about the Pens game.
I am also not saying i want the Flyers to go in a shell and tank now. I want them to continue to fight for the playoffs.
I am just being cautious with the one big asset I have for a specialty game two days before the TDL.
If your looking for an exact time place and date I have said I cannot give you that.

I'm not against moving Voracek. But if they're trading Voracek for one of them, I'd ask for permission to talk to the player prior to the trade to see about an extension. No reason to move him for a month+ rental when they're out of the chase. - jmatchett383
Yea I agree with you. At the very least I would want to talk with the agent/player or have a conditional pick if he doesn't resign. Then you get a pick while losing 8.25 million of cap which you can use to try and sign someone. I would just like to get a head-start to resigning one of them and seeing if the chemistry works. |

So you're telling me that one loss changed the outlook of the Flyers from thinking they could still make the playoffs to now thinking it is almost impossible?
No such thing as protected minutes in an NHL game.
Finally, I don't have to label the comments you made here ridiculous. They do that all by themselves. - MJL
It was already tough to get in and that loss last night was brutal. We win last night and then beat Pittsburg Saturday we are in a much better spot. As for as the sheltered minutes lol no such thing. |

Yes, and there is a reason why you can't. That's because the premise doesn't make sense.

Dave Hakstol is our third most tenured coach, think about that. Flyers organization needs to figure out how to have some stability. |

The likely reality is that it is highly unlikely that the Flyers will make the playoffs and the Flyers brass has been operating from that view point for a while.

Ok. So they why are Stone, Dzingle and Duchene being held out if it doesn't make sense?
Is Ottawa protecting itself in case something happens to their 3 biggest trade chips?

Do they have imminent trades in the works? As I said, if a trade in the final stages, hold him out. If not, play him. Even though I think the Flyers are not going to make the playoffs, there is still a chance. Is that the case with Ottawa? |

They are being held out for Precautionary Reasons.
Meaning they don't want to lose a big trade piece because of the chance of injury.

Absolutely with you on that. I know we talk about trades and free agency, but one of the first moves if not THE first move after this Simmonds situation is to find a coach. Makes for an intriguing summer. |

Its been pretty clear for some time now it's been a long shot, you didn't see Simmonds get handed a contract did you, or Fletcher go get a veteran for a playoff push? |

So Tampa calls today and offers you Adam Erne, Boris Katchouk and 2020 4th rounder for Simmonds.
Flyers say we will think about it. Tomorrow they counter and ask for the 4th to be a 2019 3rd rounder.
Tampa says give us the day.
Is Simmonds playing in the outdoor game even though your not sure your going to be able to make a deal? |

Listen, the Flyers play the game the right way. All players read and tap the sign on the locker room. You know which one I’m talking about.
There is a game. The Flyers do things the right way. I don’t care if it’s Wayne freakin Gretzky that they are about to trade, that player is nothing but a jersey to serve the glory of the organization and to Win! Win! Win! |

Flyers would agree to the first deal unless there was another team involved and the potential for a better deal.

How many coaches does it take before people finally come to the conclusion that the issue is not coaching? - MJL
flyers have a decent amount of individual talent. Clearly as a group they cant cut it; how many coaches now? Fletcher needs to move some to take this team in a fresh new direction. |

Sure but we need Giroux scoring and not focusing on doing everything that a center does. Doesn't help he has to drag JvR up and down the ice every damn game |
