Speed, probably the most important part of the game these days... Case and point Montreal. Lindblom does not skate well, define skating well? He looks good? Who cares. - ClaudeFather
Eric Wellwood was a fast skater...is that all that really matters?
Not every player needs to have generations skills in each aspect of his game there are lots of guys that raise the cup every year that we would never pine for on the Flyers...Isn't Carbomb a 2 time cup winner??? My point is you don't give away either one of those guys as they have a valuable role to play on the Flyers moving forward for the foreseeable future anyway... |

Cup or bust, kind of a crazy method. Depending on seeding though, you get first Wild card you play Islanders, then Pitt/Wash, you never know. Not saying they could win it all but a deep run could happen. - ClaudeFather
Not looking good for Game Saturday night at 8 pm...may be looking at a late Sunday afternoon 4-5-6 pm puck drop Sunday! |

I don't know anything about the reported prospects included in the deal but if they're good prospects, Columbus gave up a lot for Duchene. Too much in my opinion. |

Matt Duchene and defenceman Julius Bergman to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward prospects Vitaly Abramov and Jonathan Davidsson, a 2019 first-round pick and a conditional 2020 first-round pick,
Seems like a pretty nice haul for a UFA. I guess all of the past playoff failures has Columbus going on all
Hey tampa, think Simmonds would help you at all? |

I think we can all officially stop talking about the playoffs now. That was just brutal. And Hart has not looked very good last 3 or so games. - Buzzo
Yeah, I’m officially checking out myself on hope for the playoffs. Trade what you can get but I’m hoping Fletcher is focused on next year, not “the future”. |

Yep. And Abramov is a good prospect.
Sens did well on this.
2019 pick is top 3 protected. 2020 1st rounder if Duchene re signs with Columbus

Its bound to happen with one of these outdoor games at some point. The rain, plus it being like 60 during the day Saturday. I dont know how they're going to be able to maintain the ice surface. - hereticpride
Saturday mid-40s as a high. It's Sunday with the 62. But if it isn't sunny (and the game would be after the PGA broadcast, so 6 or later) that isn't too hot. It's in the 60s in the arenas typically. I just hope they don't ignore conditions Saturday for the interests of NBC. Apparently they are concerned about being opposite the Oscars Sunday night, but not a big crossover on those audiences. (Me, but I'm not typical.) |

Yeah, it's not a bad return.
Don't think it's enough to take the sting off losing the Jack Hughes pick, tho. |

It's actually a really good haul for the Sens, even so the picks will be late firsts. I'm not that high on abramov, but the other prospect is putting up good numbers in the SHL |

I'm rooting for them to move it to Sunday. I don't feel like playing russian roulette with the weather on Saturday. |

This makes me wonder what the price for Stone is. From a Flyers perspective... Lindblom, Allison/Ratcliffe, and 2019 first top 5 protected, and a conditional 2020 first if he resigns before July 1.
As much as I like the idea of getting a jump on signing Stone this is too much to give away IMO. If they could do a voracek deal straight up, then that would work for me. |

As much as Voracek can frustrate me sometimes I don't think it's in the Flyers best interests to trade him. I'd rather they add to the forward corpse than subtract. Sign Stone as a UFA or trade for someone else in the off season to bolster the team. TDL prices are always jacked up wouldn't be a good move for Fletcher to fall into the trading for Stone competition as the contenders who want to add will drive the price up significantly. I believe the Flyers are going to trade Simmonds and probably get back a first and a good prospect. That'll give them 2 firsts in the up coming draft and a great prospect pool to use to make trades in the off season if they want to. |

I think the bar is set and the Flyers should get an offer that is in the middle of that and that would not be bad at all. |

If they get a first and a solid prospect for him I'd be thrilled. If it ends up being a can't miss prospect without the first I'd be fine with that too. I guess we're going to see. Based off of what Ottawa got for Duchene the Flyers should be getting something pretty good for Simmer. |

Analyst are saying that with the Duchene deal the Sens might actually want youngish roster players not as much prospects for Stone. They was 2 1st, and 2 youngish NHL players or guys that are close.
So if the Flyers were to make a play for Stone your most likely moving Sanheim as a piece. |
