not always...not in recent years...there was a period time when the hawks were winning that he stoned them game after game but they have gotten to him in recent years

He still came into this game with a .935 against the Hawks - his best against any team.
He also killed Kane's 26 game point streak and the 2013 no regulation losses streak.
Another stat me no likey
from Powers:
Jokiharju played just 3:02 in the first period. He had the least amount of ice time among the Blackhawks' defensemen. Keith led them at 9:08 and Gustafsson played 8:06.
I mean, WTAF, Colliton? He shoots, he has a hard shot, he can keep up with the Avs top line. . . |

Yeah and I don't think him giving up one goal in a 4-on-2 situation makes him bad. He is definitely looking much stronger than his last couple of games. |

Jokiharju was recalled on an emergency basis this morning for tonight's contest. He is playing while Dahlstrom is not dressed for the game. Another teammate, Caggiulia, is playing tonigjt after dealing with a facial injury
The team's press release did not say what the emergency situation is. So for all we know while Seabrook is known to be injured, Dahlstrom could be out sick.
In this game for a stronger playoff footing, the blueline corp includes both Forsling and Jokiharju. With Slater Koekkoek also playing, that makes four young guys on defense.
The game has been highlighted by line rushes by each team in period one. For your information, Forsling and Jokiharju comprises one pair, Gus is with Keith, and Murphy is on the other unit with Koekkoeck.
The Avalanche has someone named Graves on defense. Obviously a newbie probably up from their farm team. I hope it is a "grave -ly"situation with this dman costing them rather than the Jokiharju - Forsling tandem.
Oh so their ciach has split up their leading scorers. McKinnnon has two unremarkable linemmates while Raatanen has Landeskog on his fkank.
Just one more piece of useful informatiin to chew on. Barrie with his good shot has beat us a couple of times the past couple or so years. At least twice in OT i recall.
Avalanche go to the locker room leading, 1-0, with a strong performance by Varlamov.
DeBrincat has been on a scoring rioll lately. I asked a co -
worker's son which was his favorite Blackhawk. Expecting to hear Kane or Toewes, instead DeBrincat was the choice.
The sophomore forward could finish strong tonight and throughout the play-off run by hitting the 40 goal mark. Couldn't expect more from him.....great draft by Bowman |

I think so too. Strome apparently is working out with his skating guy again and he is a huge hockey nerd like Kane and I believe AdB too. - HawkintheD
I’m for the summer gang in kane, cat, Strome and drake.

Bad pinch by 19 as well, but terrible gap control by Gustafson and Keith. Lots of grade A looks stopped by Varlamov and Delia gets sniped easily....when does Crow come back?? - EnzoD
I really think our forwards contribute to our defensive defiencies more than most realize. |

He’s (frank)ed with Jokiharju ever since he took over. Maybe he’s pissed that he skipped over his Rockford team and went straight to the Show??? I don’t get it man...the kid was a stud under Q |

Me either, obviously
Only clues we have is JC saying "he's young, he'll get his chance. . ." to justifiable questions from the beats about why he is not playing one of his statistically best defensemen.
So, is he actually the coach who doesn't like young players? |

Yeah way to kill the momentum
He takes too many ill-timed penalties
Delia, at least, is looking solid - pdx2ord
Yep.....but Varlomov may be having one if those nights against the Hawks. The boys need to crash the net a little. He's wayyyy too comfortable in the paint.

It is a privilege to play in this league, not a right. He should have never been allowed to play the game again. But then again, Todd Bertuzzi did. |
