Why can’t you just admit that McD lied to the Blackhawk fans at the Q firing presser. It’s obvious that he did. - scottak
Maybe the guy was just wrong about the talent level on the roster- being proven wrong with the benefit of hindsight doesn't necessarily make someone a liar. |

17-9-4 over last 30?
For those not getting this and who never will. How bout break out your Stanley Cup One Goal videos from yesteryear and drift off into nostalgia. - TrueGrit
Yes - if my math was correct.
But don’t use that stat to denigrate the contributions of his predecessor to the three Cups none of us ever thought we’d see in our lifetimes.
Q was as important to this team’s success as Big Chief Triangle was to the Bulls’ run - and the Lakers.
But like Jackson, Q was not able to succeed with a aging team having lost many of its strongest assets - or with a rebuilding team, as the Hawks really have become.
The separation came at the right time. Whether the succession plan is correct or not - well, we’ll see over the next two seasons (the remaining length of Colliton’s contract).... |

He is the head coach of the team is what I'm saying. Doesn't matter if he is a rookie, but he is involved in deciding the development of the players. - breadbag
Exactly. The handling of Joki - including ice time - is part of an organizational plan. He was called up for that game on an emergency basis and was sent right back down. It is obvious that they - the organization - feel the Rock is the best place for him.

The succession plan obviously did not envision the defense being this bad or having Gustafsson's sort of input. So now what?
Yes McDonough is a bs liar but in his position a businessman, moreover, marketing person will sugarcoat. To expect total transparency in total truth is usually not happening in the business world or the business side of Blackhawks hockey |

Take a deep breath big fella.
Simply pointing out the record for last 30 Speaks for itself.
On its face mitigates much of the insanity here today.

In last night's game, Kane drew a penalty when Jost slashed the back of Kane's leg(s).
This was after Kane hogtied him to the ice behind then Avs net. Because Jost went at Kane's knees.
Here's hoping Jost doesn't have his head on a swivel next time. |

From what I've heard Ottawa wants a 1st AND a top prospect for him. Your deal interests me A LOT more but I have a hard time seeing them biting on it

This stupidity of debating what organization people say has turned this board into Jerry Springer world.
Someone find me a quote from any team at any time declaring they have no expectation of making playoffs/winning championships? Does not exist.
Indignant fans whining like entitled children is an embarrassment.
Worse than publicly reacting to what management says is blatantly ignoring the reality of where the team is today. 2 or 4 points out of a playoff spot. Holy effen ship!!!!
The fact that people are surprised by what they hear and confused by it clearly demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of how pro sports operate.
Take a step back and think about it.

Yeah, prolly was all him without organizational input. After all, the guy's not a big prospect or anything.
Disagree all you want, but alleging that they don't know which of their defensemen are better than the others is silly. It is about playing the best guys now versus the long-term development of the Joker. They've chosen to put developing him ahead of this year's results - they think the best thing for him in the long run is to be in Rockford. - mohel
Relax and embrace the tank, this is more about the future than this season! |

The only way JC gets in the Hockey HOF is if he buys a ticket. Check out my post just below to see what a scout thinks about Joki being sent down by JC. - scottak
You think JC made that decision? I think they are proceeding cautiously with Joki, since he's part of their future. |

This is as obvious as can be. I agree with it, and I can see disagreeing with developing him in the minors. But they know what they've got. |
