Get with the program - everything that was good was because of Dale; everything bad was because of Stan. Yes, I know it is more likely that each had hits and misses, but don't tell anyone. - mohel
Cool ! Im in !
Anyways AA (Stans faul) looks disinterested. |

You are doing exactly what you claim the "Dale fans" are doing, making up poop that's not right to advance a pro Bowman narrative.
Tallon (and others) built the core of the Cup champions. He DID want Hossa, but offered Havlat a 1 year deal in an attempt to sign him as well. Tallon also made some great moves such as trading for Sharp. He however overpaid for some guys. He also screwed up with goalies a bit, but the previous GM had Crow in the system so that helped.
Bowman added to the team over the years to help maintain a level of excellence. Getting Oduya, Saad, Shaw, Vermette were key pieces to go with the core that was gifted to him.
MULTIPLE GMs are responsible for the success of the Hawks. |

100% wrong on Hossa.
Dale wanted Havlat back. Dale didnt want Hossa . The Bowmans won that argument. Regardless of who the GM was when the ink dried - mrpaulish
I thought tallon wanted both hossa long term and havlat on one year contract. Tallon 1 cup bowman 2 cups |

Sikura and Perlini are both a waste of space. Who replaces Murphy though? Brady Skej??? |

Nuance is hard... makes me have to think. I like simple narratives regardless of what the facts may support. |

This is EXACTLY what he wanted.
The idea that Bowman "won some argument" for Hossa is absolute fabricated crap.
Tallon was all over Hossa the moment he hit free agency.
I dont mind supporting Bowman (or Smith or Tallon) but at least be (frank)ing honest about what happened. All 3 GMs did well for the Hawks, on various levels. That's where the debate maybe resides. |

Who ever they can get for those 2
Stan has to get them away from JC so he has to stop playing them |

Man, our washed up 3rd line quality captain is sure looking dangerous pretty much each shift. Caggiula really fitting in well, pretty similar to Shaw (maybe not as pesty) but his willingness to go and battle is good.
I recall the broadcast mentioning Keith using one of Gustafsson's sticks for the last 6 games or so...it is working for him on the score-sheet. |

Speaking of Sticks
When Brian Burke ran his first NHL team the stick budget was $10,000
Last year in Toronto it was $600,000
Amazing |

Not sure why, but I feel good about the 3rd. The team was smoking in that 2nd period. |

Wolfie, c'mon, you couldn't tell I was going over the top with the sarcasm? The idea was to highlight that multiple GM's, including Stan have done a lot of good things over the years. And that there's no perfect GM - except for those on this here board!

Fair enough. The sarcasm is hard to read sometimes, because there are 3 or 4 who it's part of their shtick. LOL.
I think we agree. Though what Bowman does from here on out will really help cement his legacy as a top GM. He was good from 2010 to 2014, then awful from 2015 to early 2018, but his last 3 trades have been good ones. |

Big no so get rid of youth for an older player who is injury prone and inconsistent. Does not make sense. |
