Lanche hit a home run with that deal. You got it, Sens are a farce.
Those 4 points include multiple teams. It has taken the Hawks 3 weeks just to get from 8 back to 4 back. - kwolf68
They will need another 8 game losing streak to get a good % chance at a top 3 pick bc Ottawa, DET & LA can’t beat anybody. More likely that they play .500 hockey the rest of the way and draft in the same spot as last year. Currently #8 in the draft lottery. I think they were #7 lottery team and dropped to 8 when Carolina got #2. They will get a solid prospect, but likely won’t help them until 2020/21 season... |

Back to back losses where the goalies have been the difference for the opponents. LCrucial losses too for those that want this team to make the playoffs. You can pretty much kiss that goodbye for good now.
Also Hawks lost every important face off down the stretch. - SimpleJack
I don't know if there is a reason Toews isn't as good nowadays in face offs. I do not believe he lost ability - he is not over the hill ability wise. Guess is that I do suggest wear and tear had an effect on what he used to be able to do. Add to that since he went to a speed game.....he just is protecting his body from so much abuse he used to suffer. He wants to collect his salary but pride is equal or more very big. Toews wants to compete and he can have success is the speed game. Still a good player but he let's you down if you expected the old Toews.
EDIT you can see he has ability with plays he makes and goals he scores, even though many tallies are close range. We really need a new center next season whi wins face offe since Toews us not as good at it and Kruger isn't long here (he isn't as good at the dot too this season). |

Didn't we hear that PIT needs 2 D men as they've lost a couple for the season? Let's give them a couple of our "top 7." - pdx2ord
Better send them 4 and maybe they can make 2 out of them. |

How ironic in a tough loss Gus made some good plays after falling asleep on that first period goal |

Hate to say it, but Stan needs to sell. This season is toast. - kwolf68
Nothing changed, tho. He always needed to be selling. If he can. The last month shouldn't have changed that fact. |

Dude,
ALL the teams in from of the Hawks play multiple times before the Hawks play. Not only are the Hawks 4 points out of a wild card sport, behind 3 other teams, the Blackhawks have the most games played in the conference.
Id sell if possible
AA
Kruger
Kunitz
WARD
Saad (I doubt Bowman would trade Saad because he made such a big deal to get him for the following 2 seasons.)
Gus
Seabrook or Keith if ANY WAY possible.
Any freed up $ and any extra picks will help for next season starting on 7/1 |

As was just said, not like there are a lot of easily tradable assets here, if they decide they are sellers.
If Gus is to be dealt, the return better be huge. I would want more than what the Bruins gave up for Kaberle in 2011.
Maybe they get a 4th or 5th for Kruger. He is still my pick for most likely traded. Hayden is another candidate in the same vein.
Kunitz and Ward probably are going to play it out here.
Saad and Anisimov are sizable cap hits, but I see them being moved over the summer.
At least I feel more hopeful about the future than I did a few months ago. |

He is having his best season ever. So this is getting old. Maybe he loses FOs cause he is the only one taking them for the most part. |

Worst defense... worst PK ...and mediocre goaltending kinda defines the season.
The sky isn't falling, it's just been overcast all season.
The future is all that matters at this point, so I'm all for whatever results bring cap space and picks.

8 games since theBoston game - 6 at home - lost 4 of them - 3 at home.
Gave up 4+ in 7 of the 8 - 33 GA in 8 games.
Even in Gretzky’s league that wouldn’t have been good enough. - StLBravesFan
nope...gave up 4 or more in 4 strt and got 4 points...remarkable..
sens: fell behind 2 zip and allowed for in the 1st
wings: 1 GA in the 1st and blew a 3 goal lead in the 3rd
aves: fell behind 1 zip in the 1st
stars: fell behind 3-0 by the early 2nd
allowed 12 pp goals the last 12 games; yes they have been getting them back on their own pp.
6 minutes of 3rd period pp time and got nothing but khudoben was excellent

No it wouldn't. If we can see the issues this team has, I am pretty sure the Hawks management can make the same assessment. |

No doubt , but no way they would have with flagged trade like the Sox back in the day. Moot point now |

Why trade Saad?
25-50 guy, 200 foot player, he’s been driving that third line and scoring 5x5, CF% is higher than his OZ start %, one of the few Hawks who drives and goes to the net, still young at 26 - $6MM, true, but so what - cap isn’t particularly an issue now.
Seems to me the only issue with him is that many are still pining for Panarin....
I think Saad is someone you trade for to move your rebuild forward.

White flagged it? No. They wouldn't and they shouldn't. That is unfair to the players who are out giving their best effort and sets a bad precedent. I believe the plan all along is to make trades with an eye to future seasons. Whether it be picks, prospect that need a change of scenery or youngish guys who can't get a chance on they current team. Like the Strome or PooPoo type of deal. |

Really like Saad. But if it gets us a top pairing D-man you have to think on it. But you are right, he's a good 200 foot guy and when he is playing hard and motivated he can be a real handful.

Last minute of game he rushes up ice but shot puck into their end before he crossed the red line - icing! |
