Last minute of game he rushes up ice but shot puck into their end before he crossed the red line - icing! - jhawk59
Lots of dumb to go around. Picking out one play as an argument? He has been an integral part of how well the team has played lately. Any credit for a couple great Defensive plays that likely saved point blank chances on our net? |

Thinks he broke his arm according to post game remarks on WGN radio. - jhawk59
This win for Dallas might not - ok probably does not happen without Zuccarello trade. This victory may be the difference in making and seeding the playoffs.
Well now he can go sooner rather than later for a cowboy hat and maybe some boots. Dallas is on a road trip but he is going to Dallas for farther diagnosis.

Their goaltender played a big part in it.
Zucc and Benn were both lost in the game and both can play center. Derek Brossard, Kruger and AA might start looking attractive to the Stars. |

No trades, but the Hawks did put Jokiharju on the block. He hasn’t been able to crack the top 7, so Stan is going to try to salvage a 4th or 5th for him.

Yeah but faceoffs aren't important, or something.

The Hawks would be Cup contenders if only Joki were playing in the show. I can't believe JC gets to decided completely on his own who is on the roster. Who cares if the guy's ready for the show, if it is good for him long term. I wanna have him here 'cause I wanna go for that 8th spot no matter what. |

I openly admit that I was critical of Q and thought it was time for a coaching change. One of my main concerns was the Hawks were playing a reckless defensive game. Q was allowing Samuelsson to run an offensive defensive system which had the D-Men out of position constantly. Whether you agreed with all of Q’s moves or not, one thing that you could depend upon with Q earlier, was that the Hawks would be tough to score against. If there was a bad defensive game it was a guarantee that the team would tighten up a lot with a shut-out or an one goal game. Samuelsson changed all of this.
That I wanted Q to leave did not mean I wanted that move at any cost or that I thought he could be replaced by just anyone. This was especially true for a team that had 5 players on it with numerous Cup wins and Gold Medals. Q’s replacement simply had to be someone with gravitas.
Colliton was the last person that should have been hired. Not only did he not have the gravitas to be a Head Coach in the NHL, he didn’t even have a resume to be named Rockford’s Head Coach. There was no other NHL or AHL team that had any interest in him. The fact that I believed it was time to replace Q does not prevent me from being critcal of his replacement when such replacement does not even have the resume to be an AHL Head Coach.
Colliton was placed on Bowman’s radar by one Swedish Scout - one. There was no huge buzz about a young genius Coach before he was just handed Rockford. Teams were not fighting to hire him. There was one Swedish guy. Colliton coached in the Tier 2 league of Sweden - Tier 2 - where by his own admission Colliton has said you worried about whether your team would even exist week to week. He did not coach in the top Swedish Elite league and not the KHL. Also he had very poor results in 3 of his 4 seasons in the Tier 2 league of Sweden. Consequently, when he was hired in Rockford he was not qualified. When he was hired in Chicago he was even less qualified. Kane has stated the players thought the same - there is no way this has changed.
The Hawks are a total mess under Colliton. The Hawks never have even one good defensive game. His D “system” seems to be to strive for having every D-Man out of position all the time. As a fan it is impossible to envision a game where the Hawks get a shut-out or give up just one goal or even 2 goals - or give up 18 shots or 20 shots or even 25 shots. Colliton’s D “system” gives up scores of shots against and chances against. It is actually ludicrous.
Also dislike his favouring of certain players that has nothing at all to do with performance. His recent treatment of Jokiharju has me really worried. Point to a player, who started the year paired with Keith, and say we are shipping you out as you have lost confidence, when your treatment of him is the very reason for that. Insane. Immature.
So yes I was entitled to criticize Q AND am entitled to criticize Colliton. - Z3Hawk
Absolutely entitled to criticize.
You make it sound like this was the Hawks only option, which it wasn't. To me they were really happy with his coaching ability at Rockford. Realistically this is a bubble team and the way they were playing earlier in the season they were picking between 3 and 7.
Effort, Progress and Results are all that matter. The emotion they are playing with i haven't seen in a while. To declare he's not fit to coach a NHL team, i guess the Blackhawks organization completely disagree with you.
I'll let time decide if he can coach the team. Im happy he resurrected the PP and scoring for now.

JC doesn't decide who is on the roster. That is the GM's job. He may have some input but not the final call. JC isn't going to play Joki anyway so he may as well get minutes in Rockford.
Both can be true, tho. Joki can be one of the best D-men on the team and his development would be better served on the Piggies. |

Who do the Hawks have that they are willing to trade that another team would want? Kunitz is useless, Kruger isn't the same Kruger that used to play stellar PK and win faceoffs, Hayden is a dime a dozen, Perlini is lost, Sikura hasn't proven he's an NHL player yet, Anisimov has too much term left on his contract, Gustafsson - but he's a big piece of the PP which is about the only thing the Hawks have going for them, Dahlstrom/Forsling probably wouldn't make a good d-man if you put them together. He had Zawaski issue a PSA regarding an unnamed d-prospect but team looking to buy at the TDL aren't looking to add d-prospects to help them in their playoff push - d-prospects are what teams that are selling expect to get back from a team that is buying which excludes the Hawks.
Stan is looking for a rabbit in his hat but all he can pull out are skunks. What is he supposed to do with a hat full of skunks?

To move AA, Stan would have to include one of the top 4 young D or Gus. If Stan said to DK, the Pens want you. Would you turn that down? Chance at another Cup? |

Definitely move: Ward, Kunitz, and Kruger.
Try to move Anisimov + Sikura.
Maybe Forsling.

Yea I didn't get that comment either. No way would Stan need to include a player to "get rid" of AA. He may not get a lot for him, but no way would a team need to be enticed to take him off the Hawks hands. |

You can't mistake yours or most of ours opinions for how these guys are valued around the league. We have seen not so good players get traded for more than we ever imagined. Bollig got a 3rd at one point. And multiple teams gave up something for John Scott.
I am okay with the addition by subtraction concept, too. I rather watch guys who may have something to add or develop at this point than watching Kunitz be late to everything. Kruger squander offense. Perlini take a shift. Gustafsson, PooPoo or Forsling turn the puck over. |
