Danault deal for two bums - Elbows15
More than two years ago I believe, but yes that sucked. What I am trying to key on is that they have slowly built up the prospect pool and made moves to get better overall instead of pinpointing "we need a LW for Toews" etc.
I really liked the Hino and Hartman trades. I guess, I'm just liking the overall direction better now. |

I think he is, since last year that's exactly what he's done. The worry is McDonough whispering in Rocky's ear, we need to make a splash, margarita night like tonight, can only go so far, it worked for the Cubs, trade young assets away for grizzled old vets and fans will keep coming. But i trust Rocky, i think he's a fan first and like me its about the big picture. - BetweenTheDots

hmmm cbj with duchene is interesting...insurance if they lose panarin to free agency?
what if they lose both? Bobro they risk losing him also...
cbj could strike out on all 3 and get nothing...
- bogiedoc
Hmmm i bet the deals for Bobo and Panarin are garbage

I think he's insinuating that since Brisson is the agent for a bunch of Columbus players that he has let Jarno know that Duchene will sign with Columbus ... you know ... on the "QT". - EbonyRaptor
Columbus just traded for Duchesne and he reportedly will be in their lineup tonight (Friday). Draft picks and prospects going the other way. A top three lottery pick is protected for Ottawa so that case being they surrender instead the #1 in 2020. There is no second #1 if Duchesne does not re-sign with Columbus.

It is just the usual JJ bullpoop click bait. There is nothing there. Brisson has players on every team I would guess. - Elbows15
yeah the constant Gus bashing is old. I stopped following him for that reason alone, as the rink seems to have some edge attitude to it. John was right on some things, but that post about Duchene is way off base. Plus, John lives in Columbus, loves the jackets, so it's a bit homerish.
See what happens.
Zawaski tweet is interesting.....wonder if they have another top pick who is underperforming or stuck in the AHL they have scouted who they are running after.
5 Rfas currently on big club after the season.
Perlini (unless at same price or slighty more, good bye.)
Sikura (im ok keeping him at a small raise for organizational depth)
Forsling (hasn't done much)
Dahlbeck (organizational depth)
K man (organizational depth)
none of these guys should break the bank, so they should have lots of cap room without trading a Murphy or AA to fix some holes on the roster.

Logic? If you want yo go down the path of ignorant smears. Two can play that game. Opinions are like bumholes everyone has one.
What Nhl team where you a GM for ? Oh wait your just another person with a opinion and no real history to back up your cheap comments.
- Taylorst1
Lighten up Francis. Sensitive much? It's said tongue in cheek, besides which, please explain exactly what in that statement is "ignorant" or "cheap"?
Yes, we all have opinions, many which vary 180 degrees from others. Thats the beauty of discussing things on a rumor blog.
If you spent anytime on here paying attention to what people post you would see patterns. You can talk to powerenforcer about conspiracies, LBR posted lots of advanced states, Darth with something sarcastic, etc. etc. etc. You would know that I never post trade proposals, but I will point out logically why one will or wont work.
Some of us here know what other posters background is, and what their Hockey credentials are, (or aren't) but it really doesn't matter because like you say, opinions are like a holes, we all have one.
When you post something like Seabrook is faking so they won't trade him when he has a full NMC, or that the Hawks would trade Keith + a sweetener to get a 2nd round pick when they are under no pressure to sell low, then it just sounds ridiculous. Neither of those scenarios logically make any sense.

He has his sosa in Kane who keeps people coming. They are relevant in a bad western conference as if they were in the east they'd be dead and buried.
It's all about making money.....period. Hawks have tough road as they have a niche sport with a fickle fan base vs the Bulls or Cubs or Bears. Only the Sox probably have more fickle fans.
The guy I am watching closely is DeBrincat. Hes going to be worth a lot of money and the last 2 times the Hawks had good young players producing in panarin and Saad they had to deal both. Granted times have changed with cap, but Debrincat, Strome, Hayden, Kahun, Caggiula all are RFAs after next year, and Gustafsson is a UFA.
Something to keep an eye on...Sure Bowman will try to extend a few come 7/1. |

Mitchell I'd move before the others. He wasn't great just average in the WJC. Sure he could help now in some ways. The other three have greater ceiling.
Beaudin
can play defense. He could be here soon if he turned pro..He can play defense now in the Quebec league and it is apparent that it is just adjusting to a quicker pace. He just reads and does things well. You can see he knows how and is good. His issue is small size.but thst ia not stopping teams as everyone wants 2-3 fast puck movers and the puck control overrides the size disadvantage..You put skill and can play defense + skating WOW. Two good examples of rookies with ability this year: Heskanen and Chytill. The fast skill type and of course Dahlin for Buffalo. See if you are really good at certain things, you can impact. Just do not be horrible at other end or not care - like Gus.
Jokiharju
Will be one of your top dmen on the team
A leader, vocal. Have you seen him as the leader for Finland in the WJC..Have you read AEL_FOX report on him in Rockford?
Boqvist
He will be the leader on offense for your team one day. He has elite special skill. The edge with in skating. I suggest it will be a process of a few years until he is ready to play defense un the NHL it is a temptation to dress him NHL too soon but it won't be next season. The reason you can wait for Boqvist is due to
Several dmen - mist are in Rockford now- are progressing and the beautiful thing here is that they have the skill set to mix a d match with your top rated prosoe r dmen studs. I particularly like Carlsson for several reasons. Gilbert may have moved ahead of Hillman. Kryz has worked hard to improve his game and is an elite fast puck carrier.. Galvas was for the Czech team what Jokiharju was for Finland.
Do not trade these guys for a Wenneberg. Columbus will be launching them soon enough while Wenneberg is...oh he ok but he won't solve your issues let alone be a difference maker allowing you to get into the post season - jhawk59
Not to be a nudge, but you can't just look at the WJC to determine what a player's ceiling is. Look at the entire body of work. Additionally, as has been stated endlessly, you can't really project what a prospect will do when the lights are on. you have to see them against the big boys and how they handle it. There is a huge mental aspect to being able to make the NHL
I'm intrigued about a lot of the players they have coming up: Kubalik, Mitchell, Joki, Beaudin, Boqvist, Entwhistle, Barratt, etc. But until they get on the ice against real competition, they are still just prospects.

Yep I have met a few guys off this board and confirm some have legit hockey backgrounds, etc. Its' anonymous and the ole "do you have a link, or prove it" does get old because some people can't reveal who they truly are on a blog. You sift through the smoke and find the fires if you follow along.
Like anything in life there are internal squabbles at every job and people can believe or chose not to believe what is posted here on the blogs, tweets, comments, etc. |

Saw your previosu blog post....hope you are doing well.
I just like Hayden a lot. He gets his role, can play the body, has size, and has some skill. A great depth guy, and come playoff time you need some size.
No idea on Forsling. Lots have changed for me personally so I don't make many games as I used to due to life. However, watching on tv vs in person is completely different but I think this team truly needs a stable d man to help cover for a Gustafsoon and when/if some of these prospects hit who are more offensive minded.
2 was that guy but he's slowing down. As was 4 and 7. They need a new wave of that and I don't see Murphy ever fillng that role. Maybe they can flip Murphy to Toronto as I agree with others that what will kill Toronto is their D....that's why I was huge proponent of shopping Keith (and I think he may waive for Tor) to pry away a young forward before they got Strome. |

I really don't believe that with this org. The money comes when you win, but i feel winning is important to Rocky, not just making the playoffs but winning the whole goddamn thing.
I mean they buried over $5 million in salary to win the Cup, his father had so many opportunities to make a really good Blackhawks team great but would never make the trades and spend the money. |

Ah gotcha on Dahlstrom - I thought he was remembering Dahlbeck from a couple years ago. And K-man is Koekkoek - "duh" on my part.
