Seems a few hours old. But just saw this now.
Jeremy Colliton says Henri Jokiharju will be called up. Brent Seabrook is out and Carl Dahlstrom is questionable. #Blackhawks |

They are gonna need good young players on ELC I doubt they'd trade him. - GPHawksfan
Maybe they can trick them into taking Perlini? |

I think he meant Dahlstrom and Koekkoek - GPHawksfan
Every time I see that name, I end up pronouncing it like Toni Kukoc of the Bulls.

yeah the constant Gus bashing is old. I stopped following him for that reason alone, as the rink seems to have some edge attitude to it. John was right on some things, but that post about Duchene is way off base. Plus, John lives in Columbus, loves the jackets, so it's a bit homerish.
See what happens.
Zawaski tweet is interesting.....wonder if they have another top pick who is underperforming or stuck in the AHL they have scouted who they are running after.
5 Rfas currently on big club after the season.
Perlini (unless at same price or slighty more, good bye.)
Sikura (im ok keeping him at a small raise for organizational depth)
Forsling (hasn't done much)
Dahlbeck (organizational depth)
K man (organizational depth)
none of these guys should break the bank, so they should have lots of cap room without trading a Murphy or AA to fix some holes on the roster. - SteveRain
Of your 5 RFA's (and I believe you mean Dahlstrom), I would consider signing all of them for around $1mil or so. Then they work out or can be waived and/or buried in the Rock.
In terms of UFA's, Kunitz is gone, If they decide to keep Kruger, I would pay him no more than $1.5mil. Same for Ward, $3mil is too much for a backup, he wants to come back for half that (sans NMC) then fine. |

Have to agree with a previous poster. Way too early to dump Perlini. Lets see him and the rest of this team next fall after a full off season and camp to get acclimated. Perlini has skill. They just need to define a role for him to maximize that.. |

For one of those "under the radar" trades I'd love to see Stan get Taylor Raddysh from TB's AHL team so we could see the Erie lineup reunited: DCat-Strome-Raddysh. - EbonyRaptor

I agree, Perlini has size, speed, skill. It may take a little while to beat some of the Ariz out of him. Give him a 2 year deal for around a mil or so and let him prove he belongs in the NHL. |

I really don't believe that with this org. The money comes when you win, but i feel winning is important to Rocky, not just making the playoffs but winning the whole goddamn thing.
I mean they buried over $5 million in salary to win the Cup, his father had so many opportunities to make a really good Blackhawks team great but would never make the trades and spend the money. - BetweenTheDots
Agree to disagree. They have spent low this year to recoop some yesteryear budget blowups.....huet, olesz, etc
He cares about making money. He always goes on his pr stint with cranes about losing money which is hysterical to me but it is what it is.
it would interesting to see if this team misses the playoffs this year, and starts off slow where the pulse of the organization is. |

It wouldn't be a "dump" - it would be a trade to acquire Raddysh who actually knows how to play hockey.

i did....
Delia will be your backup, if CC is good to go.
I don't want Kruger back. Need to groom a new guy in that role. The Kruger train, if it ever was a train, has left the station years ago. I hope they deal him before Monday as he's not going to ruin any playoff chances.
Agreed on the rest. |

Older brother Darren didn't skate well enough to play in the NHL. Younger brother Taylor will be an NHL player - probably top-6.

You didn't say that, you said it's all about making money,,,,,, period.
No poop we all want to make money but you minimize his importance as a fan first owner second.
As far the cap goes we're in a minny rebuild so he has to have some space under the cap to eat a fat contract with prospects and draft picks coming back. That's just smart |

He has his sosa in Kane who keeps people coming. They are relevant in a bad western conference as if they were in the east they'd be dead and buried.
It's all about making money.....period. Hawks have tough road as they have a niche sport with a fickle fan base vs the Bulls or Cubs or Bears. Only the Sox probably have more fickle fans.
The guy I am watching closely is DeBrincat. Hes going to be worth a lot of money and the last 2 times the Hawks had good young players producing in panarin and Saad they had to deal both. Granted times have changed with cap, but Debrincat, Strome, Hayden, Kahun, Caggiula all are RFAs after next year, and Gustafsson is a UFA.
Something to keep an eye on...Sure Bowman will try to extend a few come 7/1. - SteveRain
The ticket resale prices have gone back up again. Just looked at tonight's. |

Considering this time of year, I was wondering:
Are there any deals from the past two years that you wish were not made (obviously, having the current hindsight)?
I've only got two, Pararin/Saad (mostly for the way it messed up the overall makeup of the team), and trading a 3rd for Jurco (why?). - Chunk
Meh. They took a chance and it didn't work. It happens.
That 3rd rounder Detroit used on goalie Keith Petruzzelli. Still in the NCAA at Quinnipiac U. Still a long way off if he turns into anything for the Wings. |

I wonder if Seabrook has been playing with this injury all year and has just gotten to the point where it is too debilitating to play. |

Think I've seen on here that Zawakski is believed to be McD's mouthpiece. Is this some weird way of putting more pressure on Seabrook and Keith to waive by letting fans know that, because of them, the Hawks may have to trade away some of their best prospects / chances to improve D in future?
Would guess most fans don't care and would actually be more upset at a trade of either 2 or 7, but just wondering, since otherwise, it seems like a supremely stupid move THIS year. |

He started the season with this:
Another defenseman is also shelved at the moment, as Brent Seabrook is expected to miss at least the first week of camp with an abdominal injury. Seabrook has had a rough go of things lately, and is hoping to bounce back as the Blackhawks try to get back into the postseason. |

That's an interesting angle. What's unclear from the tweet is whether the comment regarding 2/7 not wanting to go anywhere was just Zawaski's 2 cents or whether Stan/McD put it in those terms.

McDavid to have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety today, for his hit on Nick Leddy.
Hawks need more guys like that McDavid, guys that can be physical, with some grit. |

The Blackhawk franchise is worth $1 bil (per Forbes). The cap prevents budget blowups. The franchise is profitable even at the cap ceiling. I do not think Rocky or McD worry about making an extra mil here or an extra mil there. |

I think for the 1st time in at least a decade, 99% of tickets won't have an increase.
Somebody can verify that...going by memory
Makes sense....they lost a lot of ticketholders heading into this year, so with team being a fringe playoff team they can't afford to lose any more season ticket holders.
Have a buddy who's going tonight who got this game really cheap from a guy because back in December it was a throw away game |

If the abdominal problem has been bugging him all season or even if it got better but has returned - why not shut him down so that maybe he can get it taken care of once and for all. He still has 5 more seasons to play and if he can play better after getting 100% over this issue - then by all means do what is necessary. It's not like him being on the ice is going to make a positive difference this season.

Yep I have met a few guys off this board and confirm some have legit hockey backgrounds, etc. Its' anonymous and the ole "do you have a link, or prove it" does get old because some people can't reveal who they truly are on a blog. You sift through the smoke and find the fires if you follow along.
Like anything in life there are internal squabbles at every job and people can believe or chose not to believe what is posted here on the blogs, tweets, comments, etc. - SteveRain
