Jokes aside, he fit an obvious need and it made sense that they would be. But at that price I'm glad they stayed away. I think he's got eyes for Nashville in UFA and giving up a real solid prospect, a good prospect, and a 1st is a lot for a rental with exactly two playoff games ever.

Oh, yeah. Same logic still applies. He'd be a major upgrade at 2C and would fit perfectly long-term if we signed him. But, and it's just a hunch, like I said...he's a big country music dork and I think Nashville is where he's gonna want to be and they have a need for him and plenty of cap space.

I'd still like to see Lou make a run at Stone and try to sign him long-term ASAP. There's always Stone/Panarin/Duchene in UFA so I'm not gonna cry if they don't fork over a (frank)ton of assets for someone by 3pm Monday.
