But, regardless, the Sens had to do it. They'll be even worse next year, and probably for 3 or 4 more years. And start accumulating high end talent.

And then, once again, they can say "we're a team".

Wings trade Jensen to Caps for Bowey and a 2nd. Isn't Bowey more like a suspect than a prospect? I guess Holland did ok here given Jensen is a UFA. Good depth move for Caps.

oh yeah, this year and next year are guaranteed basement finishes. Beyond that, if McDavid can't pull Edmonton to the playoffs, even a first overall won't pull Ottawa up too far. They'll be bottom 5 for at least a year or two after that.

Basically, 2 more years before they can even think of not finishing last in the league. Another 2 years after that before they can sniff the playoffs.

Of course, that 4 year timeframe is pretty much a best case scenario. It could be more like 5 or 6.

Deal was Jensen and a 5th for Bowey and a 2nd.. It was a decent haul by Kenny Holland.
