cost for dmen is quite high, especially at the tdl. you could easily pay a 1st and a prospect.
you could have Alzner for a 5th, and we'll even throw in carpets and blinds!
and it's not all! if you call within the next 24H, we'll add Hudon for free, no shipping cost! |

Would you be ok with the Habs paying 2.3 million on the cap for Alzner to play for the Pens the next 3 years? Or not moving him and paying him 4.6 next year, with a buyout the following year at around 1.1 for 4 years, I think that's about right... |

I'd prefer to trade him even if they have to retain salary because they would at least get a pick in return. buy out brings you nothing. |

And the buyouts are longer... I would obviously be open to the idea of trading him anywhere with nothing in return, I have no idea if any team would be willing to take him on, even at half the cost |

at 50%, he's another 2.3M dman, like Schlemco. that's the only way they could trade him, and for nothing more than a late pick, or a career AHLer to fill a hole in Laval |

It brings cap space. You also may have to move a pick just to move out Alzner. That's how bad it is. |

Sounds good to me...
You said Alzner + Hudon for a 5th? Alzner 40% retained, makes it around an even 2 million, might even be able to get a 4th lol! |

Based on the game against the Leafs last night, we really need a good puck moving D that can quarterback the pp and transition the puck quickly to our forwards, we have been lacking that since Markov left. That will help our PP and get our goal differential up |

Considering the annually inflation of the cap i would buy him out, unless they have to retain only 1.6M$ but i don’t see it happening anytime soon...
As for this year, I would be willing to sacrifice one of this year 2nd and 2020 1st as well as Brooks as i am not really sold on his potential. For a young LD or RW of course; no rental this year. Untouchables are Poehling, Romanov, Primeau and Suzuki IMO. |

I think at this point, Bergy is probably holding next year's 1st with greater value then this year, as he should.... if he was gonna move a 1st right now, why move next years?
He wont move any, he never has... but there's no guarantees this team will be in a good of spot next year, could backfire in a big way.... best case scenario, a protected 1st and if its outside the top 12 this year, you let them pick it |

Good point, but it’s also the first time since the beginning of his tenure as Habs’ GM that he has that many good young assets. And Bergevin is known to go for unexpected moves. I agree about the first; on the other hand this year’s draft is EXPECTED to be deeper than next year but those are just projections. Also, i am still not entirely sold that the Habs make the playoffs this year and they could very well fare better next year...
Again, this is for a good young player and those kind of trades rarely happen at TDL. |
