For now, I’ve got Point slightly ahead
But also...
i wasn’t talking about having Jack or Point
Was saying we have BOTH
Now that’s a heck of a 1 - 2 punch down the middle imo
And bc Point can take on tough defensive minutes,
it allows you to build the type of line3 and line4 that you’d prefer

Super unlikely though
Was just kinda throwing it out there as a Dream scenario
I’m a big fan of Point
That kid can freaking play hockey

- jdfitz77

Point is a star ! I was hoping Mittelstadt could be our version of him.

Sure. His expectations are higher, so his points don't count.

Your too much

16th in points, nhl defenseman scoring.
I'm not making this up.

"He just isn't"

McDavid sucks - because - he just does

- Boss34

The points don't mean a thing if the other team is putting up a lot more of them when you are on the ice.

No big deal, I just wonder if that’s due to his team situation and not necessarily his skill, I agree if we could do that with us, we could definitely use that.
I’d rather do a Ristolainen for Huberdeau swap if he’s being moved, like the jones for johanson deal

- Sabres1523

I like that trade.

Risto's "team situation "
31st place team from last year
Terrible gum chewing 5 man unit coaching
Rookie 18 year old
1st year Swede
Bogo
Bowl u
Hunwick
Scanndy man
McCabe

Surrounded by marginal talent

Again, risto would be a great fit for columbus.

They have resources. Why would we really want another high pick instead of rostered talent?

- Boss34

That’s fantastic that he’d be a great fit for Columbus. What they have left to offer(realistic players) isn’t a great fit for Buffalo. You move him to Columbus and you create a bigger hole than what’s coming back to fill.

You need to get an overpayment for Risto or you don’t move him.

I don’t see him moved until maybe the draft and that’s only if they manage to pick up a replacement for him(like a deal with Winnipeg).

Dreger says there is no truth to the Risto rumor.
- rmiethaner

Alright can we all stop talking about a potential Risto trade then ?

Probably not ...

Has anyone other than Strickland and Ek (if he counts) reported anything
- Shadman306

Now points dont matter. If the other team is better. It's still a team sport?
Pp dont count, those are gifted

His toughness doesn't matter either. Guys on the other teams are tougher.

He also plays more, so risto is not tougher. If other players played more, they would be tougher then him.

He wont be traded to Columbus. They have nothing to give, except Anderson and another roster player

Good post

I just think a team like cbus may have to play

Kuch
Ovi
Crosby
Matthew/jt

Adding a risto would be important

What other roster player?

They aren't going to move Dubois as they just drafted him to be a franchise type player, is 20 yrs old, and has 101 points in 143 gp.

So who is it on Columbus has you so hot and bothered?

Anderson is a middle 6 guy AKA not a guy that gets my ears perked up when trading Risto.

Mitts hasn’t produced nearly as expected this year,
so I’d have a hard time right now projecting him to turn into Point
I do think he will end up being pretty good for us though
Like to see them at least keep Sam with him
Or even Skinner

Mitts needed to be sent to Rochester in early December to get some confidence.

He'd be back with the big club by this point and be a different player.

No, you're the one that keeps going back to points. I'll take a good all-around defenseman any day of the week. Sure, Risto gets his points but it isn't like he is an offensive dynamo on this team. It isn't like if he misses a game and we all sit around thinking "who is going to get the points"? Again, he was recently taken off of the pp1 because he wasn't good there. I don't feel bad using him as the bait to upgrade my team.

This. I don't understand why he and Thompson didn't spend time there. I get why JB doesn't make trades now but I'll never understand why he didn't make these kinds of moves then.

Would’ve been nice to start him in Rochester this year really

Trading ROR kinda forced him here though
And Berglund was no help at all on sheltering him

I wasn’t a fan of Botts’ plan for this season

He was pointless in 6 straight games since being removed from PP1 until yesterday

Guess where his point came from yesterday?
