This is not a bad move at all seeing that he has 1 more year on his current deal.
When Pilut was sent back down, the writing was on the wall for Guhle.
They never gave him a shot this season.

Guhle had his struggles early in the season, especially in his own zone, too many turnovers and didn't add much to the offense. He's been better lately. Pilut was clear and away better as he was on the #1 pair with Redmond before he came up.

This trade is a win-win. Montour is still young, has RFA status and is easily in the top 4. I would slot him in with Dahlin.

I'll own it, but dealing a 1st and a prospect is the definition of trading futures.
- Lunaion

But you got a young player. So he can be a future as well.

Rumor was he was out to lunch as far as listening to coaches.
- dadeadhead

Makes sense DDH.
I figured something was going on with him.

I see that Montour's from Brantford, Ontario. Maybe it's Botts's strategy to land as many southern Ontario guys as he can because the Leafs won't have any cap room for the next 8-years. Playing close to home is obviously a big draw for anyone.

Chris Farley had a great cameo
Miss him

I just saw a graphic on twitter that said Mountour is 5th in the league in controlled entries per game. That's something that we don't have enough of when Jack isn't on the ice.

I would do that and not look back once. Point is a legit star.
- Cptmjl

Yes he is, I watch the Bolts closely.
Giving up a top 3 RhD, a promissing C (hopefully a very good 2C), 2 1sts...and a $5.8m 4th liner...
Sure you would

Oh, I'm with you.
It's a good trade for this organization.

Question.
Why is Redmond not up here?

Wilcox was waived by Roch so the Sabres could sign him to an NHL deal. That does not feel coincidental.
- Lunaion

It is coincidental. Johannson is out for the season so need an emergency backup in Buffalo. Has nothing to do with the trade deadline

He's on an AHL contract. He'll never see Buffalo but he's a good mentor to the young D in Rochester, especially Borgen.

Well I said they don't have any faith in Guhle and look he's traded, I said he would move 1 of the 3 1st round picks and wow, he did. Waiting on alex the Great to bring something to the table.

One year ago if you said we could trade pending UFA Kane + Guhle for a top 4 RD who’s cheap and very young, I’d say we would’ve taken it

I'm happy with the trade. I'm just getting called out for the wrong reason.

Adding “the great” to your name is something that others bestow in you. You can’t give yourself a nickname like that. It has to be earned.

Where are the clowns that said hockey trades don't happen at the deadline and were calling me out.

I am too lazy to look back. Just show yourself and come get your crow.

Who was the clown that said it was a unicorn?

- sabresfan69

You are such a troll

What are you going to cry about next?

Great trade botts
