I’d move 3/4. Have a rotation of Malone, Porter, O’Regan, Leier, Elie, play 4th line minutes the rest of the way. Call Nylander, Olofsson, Smith back up to get them some games. That 4th line won’t be the reason we either make a push for the playoffs or fall to a top 10 pick. Having that cap space for next year and beyond helps us.

The value of buy low for a potential 60 point center is worth the risk. He will come reasonably cheap.

They are saying make trades by the trade deadline. Most of the teams trading players are pending UFA’s. Very seldom do teams trade players on long term deals during in season trade deadlines. Usually that happens in the summer. That’s all I’m saying.

To qualify both Girgs and Larsson next year would cost almost $4M in cap space. I’d rather see guys like Smith, Malone, Leier, O’Regan, Asplund battle it out for spots with Okposo on the 4th line. Erod would be a 3rd line winger or C as well.
