Hartman is farther along at age 24 than any prospect they could have gotten, and the 4th is really a 3rd. I think this is an expected return.

Oh, well then, that's differ...no it's not. The pick is worthless.

I'm not impressed. Seems like a warm body kind of player.

I feel like we have a roster full of Ryan Hartmans down in Lehigh Valley.

I'll double down on this.

Why is Brian Elliot still on this team? Why didn't they deal Raffl? Neither is part of the future of this team right now.

- johndewar

Nobody made an offer worth dealing them for.

I disagree. Who on the Phantoms do you think is as good as Hartman right now?

Maybe some of you will finally realize Simmonds isn't the same player he used to be.

That said I think Fletch could've got a little more had he not waited til the last second the pull the trigger. (Although ultimately Hextall should have made the move some time ago)

Hartman is a good player, not sure what the grievance is here. There is a good chance the 27th pick in the draft most likely would not ever be as good as him.
- ClaudeFather

Not trying to run the guy down but where does he really slot into this team? Best probable spot is energy 4th liner unless we move some wings. Even so, I think what we have coming will have more upside. Afraid with how much bashing has done on Laughton that he'd get a similar treatment as a 3rd liner.

A 4th line with him, laughton and a TBD wouldn't be the worst thing. Skating, jam and some skill.

Yeah 3rd round picks never become NHL players or are used in future trades for NHL players

I know people are disappointed w/ not getting a flashier piece, but Hartman is actually a NHL player. He played a lot of ES minutes for Nashville, and acquitted himself well.

How much could have Simmonds gotten in the summer coming off core surgery?

He'll be a 3rd liner. Think Scott Laughton with more finishing ability.

Hartman is only 24. He could be a serviceable 3rd liner

Fletcher gets two assets for a guy who they weren t going to resign to a long term contract with a NTC list. Could they have gotten better? Maybe, the summer will be where Fletcher will have more impact positive or negative.
- ravishingone

At least he made the friggin trade. I like it. Hartman gives us a young bonafide bottom 6 player. Like the trade

Is there a chance Raffl and/or Elliot were actually moved and just not announced yet
