Brian Boyle got a 2nd. That's all I've got. - five4fighting10
Isn't Boyle a pretty effective PKer still? Wayne didn't do us any favors whiffing on so many rebounds this year. That's his bread and butter now that fighting is basically out of the sport. |

Hartman was picked in the first round, traded for a first round pick, and is only 24 and people acting like he's the next Lehtera or something
Is he gonna be a star? Probs not. But he could be a cheap third liner who chips in 15 goals 35 pts and kills penalties and those types of players are still useful in the league today |

How much could have Simmonds gotten in the summer coming off core surgery? - ravishingone
Don't know but I would have even moved him well before that. I've been saying move him for two years now. |

At least he made the friggin trade. I like it. Hartman gives us a young bonafide bottom 6 player. Like the trade - Just5
And he s not going to resign Simmomds for 5 yrs. The summer will be where Fletcher puts his stamp on the team. |

would you like to talk about the economy or pink elephants? - 2Real
If people would act civil without rampant condescending remarks. Talk would be of recent events.
As it is, those who care to, are narrowing down the addresses of their nuisances. |

I disagree. Who on the Phantoms do you think is as good as Hartman right now? - jmatchett383
Hartman looks like "just a guy" to me, but guys that are former 1st round picks often get 2nd and 3rd chances to stick in the league even though the preponderance of evidence shows that, maybe, they aren't as good as we all thought. |

30th overall so he's basically a 2nd round pick |

So the Flyers would have been better getting no return for Simmonds in a month and a half? I disagree strongly. |

Its a fine trade for Simmonds at the deadline. As others have said, Hextall botched this whole thing by not dealing with this issue at last year's draft.
Not dealing Elliott and Raffl is problematic. |

He’s a guy like laughton is a guy. A 30-35 pt role player picked late in the first round isn’t a miss |

Hartman is only 24. He could be a serviceable 3rd liner - bulet13
Maybe but in less than 24 months I would expect that Oskar will slot down to the 3rd as Farabee comes in. Then there is possibly Ratcliffe....and who knows if they see Frosty as a wing.
I know Im probably way over my skis, but 2 seasons away and on a good team I pray to God he's a 4th liner. |

Maybe some of you will finally realize Simmonds isn't the same player he used to be.
That said I think Fletch could've got a little more had he not waited til the last second the pull the trigger. (Although ultimately Hextall should have made the move some time ago) - hereticpride
I keep hearing people write "Fletcher waited too long".
Seriously if someone actually offered a 1st and a prospect for Simmonds he would of been gone a month ago. People need to accept this is what Simmonds is worth at most. |

Well, he's no Jordan Weal...
3rd line winger. I'll take it. Lit it up in Chicago that one season then got moved to Preds. - cdearth23
He's like Jordan Weal.
Except American and more physical. |

Probably wasn’t much of a market for either. Oh well |
