So the Flyers would have been better getting no return for Simmonds in a month and a half? I disagree strongly. - jmatchett383
No idea
This just feels like a trade that was made so they can't be accused of " losing him for nothing!!!!!1 oh noes!!!!1" |

I thought the sens would jump on A Macs fat contract, so they can reach the cap floor next season. |

He’s a guy like laughton is a guy. A 30-35 pt role player picked late in the first round isn’t a miss - Just5
I can accept this comparison, but I think we have guys like this in our system right now. Did we really need another one? I mean....I guess.
I think I could have been talked into accepting just draft picks if they were high enough. |

Maybe but in less than 24 months I would expect that Oskar will slot down to the 3rd as Farabee comes in. Then there is possibly Radcliff....and who knows if they see Frosty as a wing.
I know Im probably way over my skis, but 2 seasons away and on a good team I pray to God he's a 4th liner. - juiced
Probably.
In less than 240 months, Giroux will probably have retired. Better start planning for that ASAP and not pay attention to what happens in the meantime. |

Yea, let's not get a guy because someone might be ready in two years... Do people think before they post that type of crap. This is an NHL player who slots in on our third line, the return was fine. |

I had tried to be sarcastic saying that he might not be as good as Weal. You know that's Jordan's dad/brother/uncle thinks he is a star. I truly believe Hartman is better (and will be better) than Weal.
He's in a tough spot. Being traded for one of the most popular players in this City. He has a lot to prove. I'm hoping he finds a role and gets a fair shake.
Or we unload him at the draft. |

With this poop return, just should’ve kept simmonds to make teammates happy |

Most highly-touted college players go to the NHL after their junior year, very few go all 4 years. |

Hey Dhead....never said it was a crappy return. Just feel like it was barely a lateral especially given where we want to go as team. |

Two assets is more than no assets - I'll stipulate to that.
Hartman seems meh to me. If they kept Simmonds and didn't sign him in the off-season they could use his cap space to fill the slot.
I just didn't view moving him today as critical to the success of the team and I don't think the move today improved them. I wouldn't have been upset at all had they not moved him. |

Where do we want to go as a team? We are'nt tanking, we replaced a third liner we weren't resigning with a younger one with some potential. I'd like to compete next season, as would most others so what is the issue. We can hopefully resign this kid for cheap. |
