Simmonds is not as good as Stone or Hayes - jmatchett383

First 3 seasons in NHL
Simmonds (3 years in LA)
240 GP 39-54-93 +12 264 PIM
Hartman
226 GP 40-43-83 +19 188 PIM
So...how did Simmer's time in LA "far exceed" anything that Hartman has done? - jmatchett383
Simmonds was 22 in the sample you chose.
At age 22, Hartman was a rookie.
I mean, if you are cool with taking all of Hartman's stats up till his Age 24 season, Hartman loses to that comparison too if you include beyond Simmonds' first 3 years in the league. Simmonds played a full NHL season at age 20. |

Again like I stated, that was the closest equivalent. I wasnt going to sit there and list off every deal out there. Hartman is a bottom 6 player. If you replace Hartman with Weise is that still a good deal because that is essentially what you are saying - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Simmonds is also a bottom 6 player...what exactly were you expecting for a 30 year old power forward with 27 pts this season on an expiring contract? please show me a comparable player who was traded this year or last who got a better return? and a 2nd round pick for boyle isnt better because at least Hartman can play in the NHL right now. enough with this absurd narrative. Was it a great trade? No. Was it a bad trade? Also no. We got what the market was for Simmonds |

So Hart? Myers, Bailey and Knight paper moves to Phantoms so they are eligible for Calder Cup Playoffs? Twitter is unclear... |

I agree. But that wasn't what you said. You said that, when Simmonds came here (after 3 seasons) that his numbers "far exceeded anything that Hartman has done." Well, over his career (which just happens to be 3 seasons), his numbers are actually almost identical to Simmonds. Do you disagree?

those picks may never turn into an NHL player. Ryan Hartman is an nhl player. how is a single 2nd round pick better than someone who currently scores goals at the NHL level. |

Simmonds did his over the course of exactly 3 NHL seasons.
Hartman compiled his numbers over the course of 5 NHL seasons.
That's not the same thing and you know it. |

So we're going to count the 8 games Hartman played prior to the 16/17 season??? |

People who overvalued simmonds are extremely unhappy
People who understand what simmer's worth on the market are okay with it

I'll need those lists, please. |

Bill tweeted that Hartman has more ES points then Simmonds this season. Sad to see Simmonds go, but unless your placing a tax on intangibles, the haul wasn t bad - ravishingone
He also plays on a better team. I think Simmonds is going to thrive in Nashville and help them a great deal. We knew going into it that the Flyers were going to be giving up the best player in the deal.

Underlines my point that Simmonds was a better player than Hartman at a younger age.
I'm sure Ryan Hartman found Rockford lovely in those days. |

I don't disagree with anything you say about their differences in age and production. I would rather have Simmonds at 24 than Hartman at 24.
Still, that wasn't what you said. |

I think Fletcher did just fine on this trade. If the prospects the flyers have coming in frost and farabee are truly top 6,then hartman is a great bottom 6 imo. That has been a weak link on this team for along time.He and laughton pitching in 15 goals a yr playing 3rd line minutes is perfect |

Hartman has 20 Even strength points and gets no PP time so 0 pp pts
Simmonds has 19 ES points and 8 PP pts with a boat load of pp time
Everyone needs to check their emotions and overreactions at the door |

You know what's going to happen.
Hartman will go out and wreck someone on the Rangers or Pens and we'll all be back onboard. |
