I understand why people aren't overwhelmed by this deal. One we have to see how Hartman fits and if he has anymore upside. At this point all we know is that the Flyers added a depth player. We don't know about what will happen with the pick. One domino still left to fall is what do the Flyers do with the cap space gained? That's part of this scenario also.
Whatever we got a 3/4th line player for an aged worn out unsigned 3/4 th line player and a bs pick, still better then nothing
I really don’t know what Simmonds is expecting for a contract next season but I’m thinking he and his agent think there getting some huge deal, anyone that gives more then 4mil x 3 years is on crack he is toast

I think they're going to go after a big splash this off-season. Not sure if it will come via UFA or via trade but I think they're in a position to do something substantial.

If Hartman can pk effectively for us...he’ll become a more useful on ice player for us than Simmonds. With jvr taking over the net front on the pp it drastically reduced Simmonds effectiveness on the unit.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Simmonds puts up good numbers with Nashville. I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to use him on the doorstep on their pp units that are probably functioning better than ours.
I don’t know what the flyers will do with the cap space. I’m pretty damn nervous about it though

A 20 goal winger is a more useful player than a PK role player.

Same thoughts here, hopefully a massive trade with lots of pieces coming and going,

Actually Nashville has the worst PP in the league. Probably a reason they targeted simmonds
