Our best defenseman is the 3rd youngest player in the league, our second best is 3 years younger than the average. - Wetbandit1
Okay and he said 22 and 23 year old. Those are literally grown ass men.
18 is still a kid, sure, go ahead and call him one but 22 and 23 aren't kids. But his post said nothing about Dahlin. |

Dude a 22-24 year old is a grown man in every sense of the word, stop calling them kids. They are young men. There is no arguing this, seriously. It's fine to call an 18/19 year old a kid still and a 20-year old a tweener but after that you're a grown ass man. - BeadyEyedDouche

If you don't think there's a difference between 22 and 26 I don't know what to tell you.
The Caps have 4 players over 30 in their top 5 and Kuznetsov at 26 is the "kid", Skinner is the "grizzled vet" on the Sabres at 26. Look at the good teams in the league, their top 5 guys are, to a team, older than the Sabres, sometimes much older, on the order of 5 or 6 years, even teams with a young top 5 are still like 3 years older on average than the Sabres. Only the Leafs are close at 23.2, and they're still six months older than the Sabres at 22.6. |

Nobody said “still a kid,” but you’re the one claiming a 22 is a “grown ass man”
There’s actually a lot of science that concludes the brain’s internal connections - things having to do with impulse control and similar high level functions (stuff we think of as “judgment” and “wisdom” or “maturity”) - aren’t fully developed until the late 20s.

Yet a 28 year old O’Reilly is gonna massively decline any day now...? - jdfitz77
When ROR hits the age of 30 I fully expect him to already be on the decline. The players who have success in their 30’s all have one thing in common, speed. ROR won’t be useless, but definitely won’t be a $7.5M player. |

Im genuinely grateful for your service. That's actually one of the mechanisms many psychologists say can speed the maturing process. |

I was just busting balls. Because there are obviously different situations.
But is Jack not a man when he is wearing the C and leading grown men? Does that make him more mature than the average 22 year old? |

Ahhh it depends. Jack is a year younger then I am and I can only imagine the lifestyle I’d have with a $950K salary and playing hockey for a living. Same age as Reinhart and I’m sure you’re all aware of the rumours of the constant snow fall inside and outside of his house. They are both talented and really good at playing the hockey but we have no idea what they do off the ice. I’d assume they are more mature then the average 22-24 year old but by how much is up to interpretation. |

12 wins in the last 38 games(since 10 game win streak), which amounts to 25 or 26 wins in a regular season
we had 25 wins last season
to put this in perspective, since the win streak we have pretty much won games at the same rate as last season |

Sabres will miss playoffs by 10+ points at this pace.
Crazy thing is - Ryan O’Reilly doesn’t equal 5+ wins.
They absolutely made the right choice moving him. It’s not even debatable.
He’d be 30 before we could truly contend.
I’ll take Montour + Thompson + cap flexibility to add guys to fit our younger players timeline |

I really liked Mountour's game last night. You can see that he likes to jump up and try to drive the play, not unlike Dahlin. |
