He wasn't playing ball with management, the other night Batherson and Brown were called up and played under 10 mins. Sens have been wanting him to play the young guys more and he keeps coaching like he's 2 points out of the playoffs. Hell they had to trade Pyatt off the team just so Boucher couldn't play him any more.

Boucher deserves to go out on his terms but this firing had nothing to do with placing blame on him, its because of his reluctance to follow orders. Cant say I blame him.

he knows Melnyk will never fire him because he works for peanuts (compared to other GMs) and is basically a yes man for the owner. based on that, he'll say whatever the hell he wants regardless of the fact that he's the worst GM currently employed in the NHL

Fans of other teams can say what they want, this guy wasn't wanted in the first place and the only reason he was chosen was because Melnyk had no money to pay a REAL coach. Bruce Boudreau with his daughter and granddaughter living in Ottawa said he wanted to coach here but they went with Boucher. He took a decent roster and did nothing with it. The trip to the Cup finals was lightning in a bottle rallied around causes that were easy for the players to get behind - Anderson's wife's cancer, MacArthur's concussion and sudden return from nowhere, Murray's cancer diagnosis etc. Everyone with half a brain knew they couldn't duplicate it. Only two snakes (sorry Isles fans) left to go GM and the worst owner in the league!! #MelnykOut

Dorion is trying to deflect blame for his BRUTAL returns for Stone, Hoffman and Karlsson. Gutless firing and it only costs the Sens more $$$ for a new coach. Must be nice for those escapee players to be in sunny climates with less taxes, less media, and way more anonymity.

Bryan Murray was the only person who kept order in that hell hole. It is now an ECHL type franchise. Bettman will deal with this matter sooner or later.

Boucher is a silly firing. But whatever I guess! It is really sad that a world class city such as Ottawa is in such disarray!

I think this was a lame move. His contract was up after this season. They could have just finished the 20 games and parted ways.

Guy Boucher is an OK coach and I think he’s done an admirable job with what he was given.

I’m honestly not trying to troll Sens fans, but you guys deserve better ownership. I don’t care what he says in public, but I feel he’s doing whatever he can to move this team.

I don't think it's pointless, sometimes with a rebuild you want to groom a coach with your younger players to grow together. That being said, Ottawa will be bad for a long time. I'm not sure any coach could drag this roster to respectability.

I'd be shocked if he was even worth half of that, and with the Lebreton deal falling apart, that net worth will fall even more.

I'd say he's worth whatever the value of the franchise is, plus maybe 10-15% for a few other investments and real estate he has.

I think it's unfair to paint the entire franchise with the same brush.

there is ZERO doubt that the owner, gm, and COO are giant lying incompetent dbags.....don't think a single person in Ottawa would disagree.

that being said, there is a lot of good youth on the roster, they have a very strong scouting department, their AHL coaching staff is fantastic.

if you can get rid of Melnyk (meaning dorion would follow him quickly out of the door) this team could turn around quickly with the rest of the personnel they have in place.
