I was just looking at Iginla's points as a Flame, surprised to see Johnny Gaudreau is already 15th all-time in Flames scoring. Made me think, it's pretty rare to get special players on your team. What a weird play. I think Kunins face hits that boards edge regardless if Hathaway takes his hand off his stick to avoid the hit but it doesnt really make him look good. Given its Hathaway, and given he probably doesnt need to free up his hand to avoid being hit, I wouldnt be surprised if he got one game. Probably doesnt deserve to be one, but I can see the league giving him one.

I've largely enjoyed the season, minus the long losing streak. We're (frank)ed now, but it's been a fun year. I thought Petey and Marky might be able to pull us through to get a wildcard spot, but Petey's gone a bit cold and we don't have much else going for us.

So I'm excited about next season. The kids look good and we turned over a lot of the roster. The offseason focus needs to be on the D and making sure the kids come to camp ready to carry the team. And who would have thought goaltender looked like an actual position of strength?
