Uh oh, sounds like another Eichel tantrum and another individual being run out of town to appease him.
This guy isn't Captain material at all. - As_I_See_It
Actually, that reporter is a d!ckhole.
If Hasek was still on this team, he would have choked him out years ago...

Grow up man. Your condescending comments are beyond old. - Mentalorgasm5
Post something interesting or factual once in a while.
You tell others that it's not the coaching staff.
Right, because they aren't at practice.
Then condescendingly
You know that the coaches are not at fault
But you're not at practice either |

Casey Nelson has not been amazing, but he has been solid. He hasn’t played in weeks. Hunwick has played regularly. Scandella has played regularly.
Housley has played lineups that limit our scoring capabilities to a single line instead of utilizing combinations that could make a more varied attack which is harder to stop.
Our talent needs to be deeper, but he’s not getting the most out of the skills the team has. - Der Kaiser
There is truth to this. I’m never going to say it’s one or the other, it’s both.
I just think the more pressing need right now is talent rather than coaching. Now, if we get some more players on this team that are slotted where they belong and he’s pulling some of these moves, we have an issue. |

We have officially reached that point of the season where we lost even the make-believe hope of getting into the playoffs, and we now argue about why it didn't happen.
And those arguments turn into "IDIOT" and "OH YEAH LIKE YOU KNOW"
And then we get a smattering of "If only we hadn't traded this great one" or "If only we would have saved the pick to get this young superstar."
Enjoy your coffees boys. |

You officially win the internet with that.
The ten game win streak was a lot of fun, but expectations (realistic at least) would still have this team on the outside looking in. Even then, that was counting on Berglund as a bridge to Casey at 2C.
Those things didn’t happen, why are we shocked we’re on the outside looking in?
Loving the development in Rochester. I want LONG term success so le’s build that pipe line.
Darcy was right when he said we were in for suffering. We’ve had two GM’s that couldn’t draft back to back and the jury is still out on this one though, it’s not looking bad.
Then again, Guhle looked like a lock in the top 6 this season last year.
Bottom line, I’m not interested in sacrificing the long term success for a one round playoff fix.
Stay the course, or at least chart one and stick with it.

This is a playoff team with O'Reilly on the roster... - Mentalorgasm5
Agreed. This GM is a total putz. Hard to believe the key return to trading ROR was super sniper Tage Thompson. The team trading for the best player in a deal HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE AT WILL team. Not when dealing with Botts. Effin moron couldn’t even get a 1st for ROR without conditions and had to take back Berglund and Sobotka? Please, he’s a dumbass. I have 0 confidence in him. Need more scoring and the genius goes all defense in a draft after getting an alleged generational DMan first overall. If Skinner walks, wow. Posters will still be telling you how great the GM is. We got a good one.

What you guys think of Dan Dunleavy doing play by play. Heard him yesterday and he wasn't bad. Rob Ray is awful though. - Matthews_Auston
Dunleavy will be a fine replacement for Jeanerett. I’m fine with Ray, find him funny. A lot of people hate him. |

ror trade wasn't great, by any stretch, but it isn't the end of the world...Boston traded joe thornton for three players who turned into virtual nobody's/journeymen and later won the Stanley cup...kane was traded to buffalo by Winnipeg and three years later they're in the conference finals looking like a cup favorite this year...and, the conditions of the ror trade have nothing to do with round as it will be a first rounder in either 2019 or 2020...
just sayin |

The return in the ROR trade may be Montour, Thompson, Sobotka, and the Blues 2nd rounder in 2021. I still make that trade 10/10. If the Blues hand us a top 20 pick it depends on who we select and who we give the $7M in cap space that ROR was going to take up. |

JT? You mean johnny Toronto lol easy to get THUMPED on back to backs as you know. And if ya didn t. You do now. As for the isles beware the Hockey Gods is all im saying. Although i loved the atmosphere on the island. Some of the fans actions were over the top. Maybe if they had showed up over the 9 yrs johnny toronto was there. He might still be. Probably not. And btw i think skinner was a huge leafs fan as a kid. Lucky leafs have no cap room. But im sure he still has his pj s. Lol |

If I figured this right, we have the 12th pick and the Blues pick is 17th. We'll need for the Blues to stumble down the stretch and get to 20 to make the ROR trade worthwhile. On face value at this point the ROR trade is hideous. Major meltdown for Botts on this one. |

I’m not assessing this trade till 2 years down the line. Everyone can go for Botts’ head but I might be the one laughing 2 years from now when ROR turns into Spezza value at $7.5M a year and that first round pick is either a 27 year old Montour that makes Risto expendable or another young player to add to the core that is 20 years old with extra cap space. |

I know people love dumping on it, but a 1st, 2nd, and a prospect is fair value for RoR and no one was offering more.

When I watch Tage, I see a very similar player to Tyler Myers.
Two players with god-given attributes that could be real difference makers.
Both big men who have made the conscious decision to play like Bambi, rather than integrating physicality into their tool bag.
In Tage's case, it would be less of an issue if he had the proper body control to be able to skate like bambi, he doesn't though..takes way too lonv to be able to shift body positioning to be able to make quick turns/change of directions...he is constantly beaten by the opponent when he is on the forecheck.
I'm not of the opinion he will ever amount to a solid NHL player until
1- he significantly improves his body control / skating
2- realizes playing a heavy game for a guy who is 6'-5" and could easily carry 225lbs would be an intimdating, productive force to be reconed with
3- improves the accuracy of his shot
He should be assigned to Roch until at .east 1 and 2 above are accomp,ished...he can then work on 3 in after-practice time. - IonSabres
He's not very good at his job. People want to see some more talent on this team so they get excited when he makes the occasional good play. Reality is he stinks. He might get better with time but right now he stinks. |

And we’d be 5-6 points out of a playoff spot, instead of 8-10, with less cap space and assets, and no Montour and maybe no Skinner.
So then another year of ROR’s prime (pretty much his last) will have been wasted and we’d get the same post-game interview for the 1,000 time while talking about needing change and whether to fire the coach or not.

Fair enough. And you're right, always best to assess a trade a few years down the line a bit. If Anaheim gets the SJ pick, then this trade will teeter on disaster, even in a few years. |

Guhle, Bailey, Baptiste, Armia, McNabb, Nylander, Cornel, Karabacek, Hurley, Gregorenko, Fasching...
The list can go on and on... we need to fix our drafting and development, we're going nowhere as an organization until this happens.

the sjs pick is the lowest of the first rounders they had before the ducks trade so ana getting that one is a best-case scenario...right? |

Yes. Ideally the St. Louis pick falls at 19 so they don't get it. If that's the case I dangle it at the draft. |

Your opinion differs from mine, and that's fine. I believe a good second line center like ROR (something we don't have now), with Dahlin and better goaltending than we had last year puts us in the playoffs. |

Best case scenario is we turn those assets (picks) into something better via trade. I'm hopeful Tage develops but he might not be nothing more than 3 RW. |
