Like I said in the previous blog. I was at the game for a buddies b-day and he’s a pens fan. Group of 6 of us went. My preference for the rest of the season is to beat the leafs twice and lose the rest. Unless the Sabres can rattle off another 10 game winning streak the playoff dream is dead. From the 300’s though, I saw that Eichel can handle the defensive matchups that you said he’s incabable of doing and was a +2 last night against Crosby and company.

Montour is a good add. I liked his game last night. I wish Sheary could play every game like he’s playing the Penguins as well.

I liked the intangibles he brought last night as well. He mentioned playing heavy hockey in the West since he joined the league and I think it showed. He seems to realize what's a stake here and was pretty nasty on the ice for most of the game. Hopefully his intensity can rub off on some of the other guys on the team. Glad we added a guy that's used to winning in his short career so far.

Hunwick, absolutely. McCabe, not sure. I really would like to know the strategy of not playing our best players - in: Pilut, CJ Smith, Oloffson (maybe), O'Regan- out: Hunwick, Sobotka, Scandella, Wilson (or a few others). The Sabres have a responsibility to its fans to put the best product on the ice.

Botts and Housley need to be challenged on this.

He already has the most even strength points of his career? That's at least progress at least from an offense standpoint?

I understand that the majority of the game is played 5v5, but why not use all even strength data, as that would seem to truly incorporate the bulk of the game play?

But you're right, 13 assists isn't much to write home about.

That would be a colossal failure on Jarmo's part. I'd say fire him, but I'm not sure what qualified GM would want to come into a situation with potentially losing those guys and having no picks

He’s progressively getting worse as the season goes on. Which is true for most of this team outside it’s actually good players.
